civilization 4 doesn't do that anyways.

What does Civ 4 have to do with this patch? In any case, with civ 4 you could switch language in game.

and if you don't like it, remove all but the name itself. (example: TXT_KEY_ANKARA to just Ankara.

pfff yeah sure, why not just translate all the mods out there in the process :eek:
 
I like the new patch and now starting to enjoy the game a liitle more. By the way where is the galleon and transport ships in this game? How do I move troops across the ocean?

When you research Optics all your land units will be able to embark themselves, no need for transport ships any more. But you will want to escort them with some naval units.

Walk your troops into the water, they turn into transport ships by themselves ;)
 
Anything on the never ending peace treaties?

Tried resuming a game I had with this problem and it didn't fix it...and unfortunately my autosaves didn't go far back enough to jump back in before the treaty.

I'm guessing the patch does prevent the issue from popping up anew if it's listed in the notes.

Bummed, the game in question was GOTM2!
 
Downloading this now. I hope it will fix the corrupt savegame problem. That is what really killed ciV for me, after a crash I couldn't load my savegame or autosave :(. Didn't rly mind the crashing since it only happened after 3-5h of straight play.
 
Turn 217 ( year 1888 ) the game freese again (after the patch). My system is ok but....but game denies to continue!!! They did'n fixed the huge territory????? Any solution????
 
Seems more robust. I used to get crashes in full screen mode so had to run it in a frame. After the patch update, I just gave it another try on full screen. Admittedly it was a quick deity domination win, so it ended on turn 79, but it sailed through with no crashes. I guess that's optimistic, but late game, who knows.

Thanks for your help everyone (I actually remember the embark method now) after I had posted my original question...lol. I sure will miss the galleon though. Those ships were massive and built out of solid oak whiskey barrels. I also like the map builder too "It's like totally awesome and like really far out and groovy dude...lol.

Is the game become better after the patch ?

Yes, I don't know and yes. I do think the game is enjoyable even in its present shape, and there will be more patches and fixes.
 
Has anyone else noticed that the city Governor is now insane when allocating worked tiles? I choose "emphasise food" and it chooses all the low food tiles. I choose "emphasise production" and it gives me more food.

Crazy. If I have to micromanage every city's worked tiles this is going to become unplayable.
 
Diplomacy - Fix for never ending deals (peace, research agreements, etc).

Great now it crashes whenever I encounter a new civ. The best part is until this patch the game had never crashed.
