Civ VI Funny/Strange Screenshots

So the sad tale of the Settlers from Brussels ... once long ago some people decided to leave their home city and travel the world, looking for a new home. They wandered for many centuries, and never did find a new homeland.

He's praying that Antioch's borders expand enough to pop him somewhere more suitable.

I had a similar problem in one of my GS games, the settler just had no spot to plant their city and wandered back and forth endlessly. Eventually I saw a pop-up that they had been defeated. I think over time, being caught in volcanic eruptions whittled down their health until they expired.

Or maybe they gave up and threw themselves into the volcano. :)

Abo is confident this whole global warming thing won't be a problem for at least 88 years until they build their flood barrier, so they're cheerfully adding some more oil wells.

(I was building a snow city to get Sweden's Smorgsbord achievement. Apologies for the lack of proper accents.)

Edit: A few turns later, a new city council was voted in after assuring residents that this so-called flooding issue wouldn't be a problem for at least 170 years.

I have no idea what caused this change. The sea levels have not risen, no additional co2 is being released or trees cut down. Odd. Maybe the person working the Open-Air Museum used to be in a forest and as a result production is down? Dunno.

I have problems too with Sea Barrier and increase to an amount of Production way to high, going from 10 turns to 50 in a matter of a single turn. I think the Production cost of the Sea barrier increase with the level of CO2 or water level, and when this is happening while building it, the Production cost update wrongly. Sometimes, when I build something else and then get back to it to have the correct Production needed, and take way less turn.

For you, it's none of these. The production cost is 200, so you went to 2 Production per turn to 1. When you build the Fishing boast, you went from 2 to 3 Housing, making the city able to grow without penalty, and the citizen probably switch from the forest to the museum?. Or maybe you have now a new coast that is floodable, so you went to a 200 Production cost to 400 Production, but the flood barrier didn't update to include the new coast?

Oh those poor Vallettian pilgrims ...
You really like lost souls. It’s also rather funny they are CS settlers so even if they find an empty continent they will find they did not pack their shovels.

I disagree, this is inspiring tale of a amazing people stubbornly refusing to give up their identity for millenias.

Tribe of Brussels has a legend about ancient times. When other tribes were settling, Brussels people said "but what about freedom? Why should we sit in one place like trees instead of travelling across the great world like birds?" and they all decided they will never settle down. And they remained nomads for millenias, traversing the entire world and gaining more and more stories of the lands they encountered during Eternal Trek. They were so stubborn they got recognized by the World Congress and getting special political status. And in the space era, they became first planetary surveyors.

From my same game as above, those City States really are getting ambitious! Oh those poor Vallettian pilgrims ... hoping for a better life, but never finding one.

I think they're just chillin' it out and waiting for the first rocket out of this miserable world to a better one. :)

I start to find it mildly disappointing when taking part in an emergency works kinda like the launch of the Earth Satellite, suddenly all your scouts are made redundant.

Anyway, that also provides for interesting glimpses into the AI's life.
Can you spot two offending mines in this Norwegian farmers' paradise?
Spoiler :
Norwegian Farmkhana. Do I see Jeremy Clarkson somewhere there?

Well this was a pretty interesting start. Not only am I isolated in a corner of the map, but apparently there's an inland sea of strife separating me from Sumeria to the west, where you can't walk around either side of it by land. Also this is probably the first time in GS I really feel like I have a good reason for building the Panama Canal further down the road lol

A "like" for the opportunity to see what the Cat Scout icon looks like

So this whole Canada peaceful nation thing seems to be a false front.

This is the last nation I expected this from:

edit: Next turn Canada nukes Knossos again with a bomber. I happened to witness it this time because my last action of the previous turn was assigning a spy in a nearby Greek city.

Looks like a fun map...Completely unrelated but is that a mod which shows if people are in a golden age on their portrait? What's it called?

Yeah and it also adds the chat/combat log to the left, gives a much better unit overview screen and merges the citizen management with the tile purchase buttons again like in civ 5. Also you can get a bunch of stat info about other civs by hovering the mouse over their portraits, like in Vox Populi

I got it from Marbozir's channel a few days ago. It's called Concise UI

Thanks. I'll give it a try later! Looks nice

It seems the Incas like wind. Or just clean energy. Too bad the world has already gone to hell by this point. But it's the thought that counts.

The AI loves renewables in general. They keep plonking down turbines and solar panels regardless of how much power they need.

Lots of late game science to pillage, mind...

Heh, if your civ is biased to start in hilly / mountainous areas then that's the clean power you'll use. But yeah, it sure seems excessive.

Meanwhile, in my latest game my capital is another city with three rivers that flood and therefore three dams. Will be wonderful once I get hydro-electric. No need for wind, that's for sure. :)

CivVI-DamsThree-02-Medium.jpg

I'm trying Korea to see how quickly they can get a science victory in GS. Unfortunately I forgot that the dam counts as district that reduces the seawon's science output by one. Sigh.

That's one straight river!
