See this thread. I guess it doesn't matter. But this GOTM won't count for the Global Ranking or Hall Of Fame.

First of all, allow me to introduce myself. I am swattek of GameSpy fame (Fallout Tactics, AOE II). I have never played any of the Civ games but could not put this box down. Hello everyone!

I have a question. What with the patch out today and all, I was wondering if the GOTM file is playable with v1.16. Anyone tried?

Welcome to the forum, swattek.

The v1.16 patch is compatible with old saved games. If you haven't started the GOTM yet, you should wait after the patch is out (Friday or Saturday).
