Apolyton Who?!

Been awhile eh?

Anyway, I play all kinds of sports, but I run track and cross country primarily. Right now, I'm working my ass off to get back in shape after a season ending foot injury from last track season, and in order to get my mile times down. I also play most other sports (just not competitively) and I shoot the ol' bow and arrow in my spare time.

Canadians and a guy from the "Kremlin" who don't play ice hockey??? What is this world coming to??? Next thing you know some Japanese guy will be the best player in Major League Baseball!!

As a child, I played many sports - hockey, swimming, tennis, track and football among others.

As an adult I have tried some other sports - skirt-chasing, beer-drinking, girl-watching. Hahaha!

Seriously, now I have a son who plays hockey and depending on my schedule I spend time coaching his team. It is kind of exciting watching your son equal or surpass your athletic accomplishments.

let's see, this will be my first post in here...

hi! i'm jon from trondheim, norway, 26yrs old and ballplayer. spent most of them playing civ1-2 and smac. also played b-ball for about 6-7yrs, but not for the last 4 now... i'm planning a comeback this autumn.

i like to compare myself to tracy mcgrady or jalen rose, tall guards who can do it all -- nobody else draw that comparison thou -- but i guess i'm more a jeff hornacek type of player, can't run, can't jump and retired, heheh.

actually, it's been pretty much skirt-chasing and muglifting on my part as well. funny thing that.

okay bye.

Ok, ok. So I am about 6ft6", right CornMaster?

6ft = 1.83m
1ft = 0.3048m

Correct?

Well then you are quite a bit taller than me - I'm only 5'10''!!!

Damn I hate having to calculate CM to inch and feet - why on earth are some countries still using that old system???

I wonder how many countries besides the England, the US and other former English colonies still use that system??

Officially I think that England and the US are the ONLY countries that use this system. And eventually they will be forced to Metric...or SI. There is no point denying the enavitable. It's like the dollar coin. I have not seen one yet. But I hear that there is a vending machine that give them out. So I'm going to take $50 in one dollar bills and get the $50 in dollar coins. Then go around to stores in town and start spreading the wealth!!! I have a HUGE change pocket in my wallet for these coins...but Americans won't use them!!! (My huge wallet came from Canada where we have $1 and $2 coins.)

Well, I'm no athlete. I can't match the impressive skills of some of the posters here. (Although I was junior bowling league champ when I was a kid, and played some hockey of course, being Canadian)

I do stay active though. Mostly I cycle, and go for a walk every day, so I'm no fat computer dork.

I play hockey with some friends. It's not a league, but we get together once a week & play for a few hours. I also play a bit of back yard football (American) from time to time. I'm not sure that I'd call fist fighting a sport, but between playing hockey & the common instances involving idiots who hit on my wife in a bar, of f**k with me or my friends etc, I engage in that frequently too.

P.S. I go to the firing range 2 or 3 times a month too. If you're legally & financially able to, I highly recommend taking it up as a hobby. It's a GREAT outlet for stress!

Listen, strange women lying around in ponds, distributing swords is no basis for a system government.
