I think I just read in one of the other posts that standard game speed is 150-200 turns, but this might only be the first era.
I beleive that was the first Age, yes.

That's for certain. The article I linked above mentions the year count was at 1140BCE on turn 124. And in official showcase, year count goes up from 4000 to 3975 BCE in turn 2. This 25 year jump is smaller than that of previous games, I believe it was 40.

According to this article, the difficulty levels are called as:
「Scribe」→「Governor」→「Viceroy」→「Sovereign」→「Immortal」→「Deity」
Is this the first time the difficulty names have been changed?

Not completely, as e.g. older titles had a "sid" difficulty beyond deity.
It might be the first time that we don't have the starting titles such as "settler", "chieftain", "prince", "king", or "emperor".
All of that might in some way be....uh... an realisation that these are in some way very western concepts/names... I guess?

No, but Civ5 and Civ6 had the same.
The rest almost the same. I think Chieftain, Warlord, Prince, King/Monarch, and Emperor were in all the Civs (excluding BE)
Not seeing any of them now is almost Blasphemy!

Not anymore woke than before ;).

Just thinking about it, it's probably to avoid confusion with ingame terms.
You may be the king of the XY people, but playing on Settler level. It's kinda stupid. Using terms which are not used otherwise in-game makes more sense.

There's no more Sid difficulty?

I always did kind of wonder what Sid thought about the toughest difficulty being named after him, higher than Deity. I'm sure he was in on the joke, but it was kind of funny that it implicitly elevated him above deity status.
Prince & King were not gender neutral. Civ has gone woke!!!
Civ III was gender neutral before it was cool. Chieftain -> Warlord -> Regent -> Monarch -> Emperor (well, maybe not entirely...), Demigod, Deity, Sid

But I kind of like the new terms. We've had variants on the same terms forever.

I'm most curious about the "Map Type" option. "Continents Plus" sounds interesting, but what will the other options be?

Also: I thought I saw someone say gold was back as a resource?

Governor is not gender neutral. So Civ III would be "woke" but VII wouldn't be?

Spiffing Brit and Potato also talked about this.
