Civilization III Fixes (PLEASE READ)

Please help. I purchased all 3 civ3 games (civ3 vanilla, ptw, conq.). Stoped playing for about 6 months (working on the basement). My civ3 games are lost. No idea where they may be. As luck would have it I walk by and find "Civ3 Complete" at toys r us for $20.00. I am happy once more. My problem:
-error data3.cab corrupt, 1335. No idea what to do I can't even install it. Please help.

Never mind relentless installing paid off. Also by using both cd and dvd drives it continueslly loaded. While the 2nd cd was loading I swapped the 1st with the 3rd and it worked. Just didn't like the pause i guess.

I am having a horrible time trying to download and run completed scenarios. I believe that I am following all the instructions meticulously. when I try to run any of the scenarios that I have downloaded, I get always get an error message that a file is missing, usually a pedia file. HELP!

Is it all scenarios, or just a specific one? If it's a specific one, you should really ask in the thread that you d/l'd it from.

Ah, I"ve seen you've already done that. Please refrain from asking the same question in different parts of the forums.

I updated my system, but I still get the "Error Code 28, Font Cannot Load" Message! I am testing a copy of the Windows Vista RC1. But, Civ3 worked perfectly in the flawed-up beta 2, and all microsoft did was improve the system! I updated my audio/video driver, etc. How do I fix this, and will this occur in civ4? Do I need to add a font to my system???

hi im having troubles with the game. i have all the patches installed and all drivers are updated. when i launch the game it gets the loading up screen then exits out of it. i havent found any support site saying anything about it. i havent looked alot though, anything i found hinting about it says update video card or sound card. i have done that and it still wont run. any help?

ok, I got civ3, ptw, and conq. in a 3-cd pack out of a catalog somewhere.
From the start, I had errors. When I tried to install PTW, it wouldn't run. It said that it needed the cd when it was already in there. I installed conquests and it ran fine (is mine unique in the fact that I don't need the cd to run conquests?) I downloaded 1.22 update and it came up with the cd error like ptw did. I uninstalled and reinstalled conquests and everthing ran fine until I tried downloading mods. I kept getting errors like "cannot find file: art\units\some unit\..\swordsman\swordfortify.wav" I know the files are there, I even tried moving them into the mod folder, but I still get the errors. I know howtoopen the INI file and delete the entry for that sound, ut I think it really takes away from the unit.
HELP!:please: :help:

im not a computer whiz just like my strategy games my sytem is a new hp prerssario i added a stick of ram i meet or exeed system require ment for civ 3but it wont install any suggestions?

Memory's not the issue. There is no minimum requirement of RAM for installation. Aside, of course, from the windows minimum for windows to run.

Anyways, what kind of error message are you getting?

Try Start -> My Computer and click on your cd rom drive. if it opens the drive instead of autorunning it, find the setup file.

It sounds like your CD rom is set to not autoplay, which would be why you put the disc in and nothing happens.

i think its the disk when i try 2 expolre the drive its in i dont c any files when i put a diffrent game in i do i think its abad disk ganna terurn it 4 diff 1 c what happens
