Civilization Request Thread

GWI and Infantry are both the exact same units just with literally different nametags (I can call it GWI or just Infantry) I just use GWI because it sounds cooler but If its really that much of an issue I'll change it maybe?

No they are not, Infantry have 70 combat strength while GWI have 50

Fine but can we please leave criticisms to the design, not actual Units, its pretty easy to get confused sometimes because in all sense of the word. WTH would you two things named Infantry and have them contain different stats :p.

Same reason that there exist both landships and tanks - because between WWI and WWII equipment improved significantly. I side with Birdy on this one.

But I don't understand how Rzeczpospolita Polska was a colony, unless you use a loose construction of that term to also mean "puppet nation"...

This isnt a colonial civ Wimp... I said it was cold war one which isnt one I plan on doing . Atleast with landships and tanks the changes were noticable. What? you go from Semi-Automatic to Automatic? its not exactly recognizable take a look at the Marine they demonstrate the change a lot better... Although their both pretty solid units.

Besides I only have already deciding to post a strawpoll tommorow to decide what civs are coming next with the DWE and NS considered/in the works.

Hey guys, I was wondering if you guys could help me with this, I'm not sure what I want to do for the UU

Rashidun Caliphate
Leader: Abu Bakr
Capital: Medina

UA: Sword of Islam - Can build mosques after discovering theology. Units gain experience equal to triple the :c5faith: Faith output of the city they were produced in (capped at +30)

UU: Mubarizun - Rashidun replacement for the Swordman. Not quite sure what to do for this yet, I'm totally up for suggestions.

UB: Bayt al-mal - Rashidun replacement for the Market. In addition to the benefits of the Market it replaces, it provides +1 :civ5happy: Happiness and increases the :civ5gold: Gold gained from capturing a city by 10%.

I wanted to do some but I can't... So I have 1 idea.
Israel
Leader: David Ben-Gurion
UA - Modernized Warfare - Every post-industrial unit receives 10 HP% After completely killing a unit.
UU - Merkava - Replaces Tank, and like the Chu-Ko-Nu, They can shoot twice.
UU - Iron Dome - Replaces Missile Artillery, And is moved by a truck. It can shoot only air units or missiles.

But merkava and iron dome aren't from Ben gurion's time!
(You should visit our world's thread. They are currently making an Israel civ led by Ben gurion, with those unqiues.

Why does it matter if it's not from his time?

Natan is a lot more Leader-oriented than most of us. That is due to JFD's influence- his mods also reflect that.

Well maybe not, but neither are Zeros from Oda's time, And neither are B17s from Washington's time.
I'm not the only one with mistakes!

You didn't make a mistake - its just how civ works. Natan is just being picky.

I thought it was supposed to be civ oriented. America for example, doesn't have anything early since it didn't exist until gunpowder, while all of Rome's units are classical.

Brazil as well, France...

It's two design philosophies. JFD vs Firaxis. Firaxis tends to focus more on Civs historically speaking and their contributions as a whole, while JFD is all about the Leader's time. It allows him to work on his field of expertise (Europe) without stepping on the toes of Firaxis' own Civilizations.

The problem with a leader based civ is that since most people have a rather short life compared to the timeframe of civ 5, you will end up with one time period in which you are best in, which I'm not a fan of. If that time period is too early, then you feel rushed to capatalize on it, but if it's too late, then it usually won't make much of a difference since you will probably already be dominant by endgame.
