Civilization Request Thread

Ahhh pick new deal already r u and can u share saves I'll give you my askia\ nuking shaka game pleaseeeee

(Also, you went full piety.)

If you attempt to maximize Faith, you can potentially end up with 70 EXP from Faith only. If you snatch Brandenburg, you can start off with Level 6 units IIRC.

Hell, if you Wonderwhore a fair bit and use Divine Inspiration, you're looking at possibly higher. Sky's the limit at this point.

That's why I decided to cap the exp at +30. I was thinking of changing it so Buildings and Wonder that originally generate faith give +5 exp, that would cap out at +50 if you built every wonder and faith building in your holy city and took a follower belief that allows you to build a faith building.

Then cap it at 60. It could double the XP, at best.

A person can't build units if they're building wonders.

Yes, yes they can. If you have Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, And the theology wonders plus messiah(which I fancy), you will have enough faith\ gold to buy whatever units you want. Even more so with mercenaries and the piety tree. Add P&P... And enjoy the holy wars...

Would you like this better?

Rashidun Caliphate
Abu Bakr

Sword of Islam
Can build mosques after discovering theology. Units gain experience equal to the :c5faith: Faith output of the city they were produced in (capped at +60).

Mubarizun (Swordman)
Stronger than Swordman it replaces (16 :c5strength: vs 14 :c5strength:), nearby Enemy Units recieve a 20% penalty to their :c5strength: Combat Strength if a Mubarizun has recently defeated a unit.

Bayt al-mal (Market)
In addition to the benefits of the Market it replaces, it provides +1 :c5happy: Happiness and increases the :c5gold: Gold gained from capturing a city or pillaging a tile by 10%.

I love it. Wait for my take at it. :D

But you do from capturing cities and, if you're playing the game right, you'll have an ever-increasing number of 'markets'.
If you have a lot of cities, you will already be making a ton of gold anyways, so it won't be that big of a boost. In addition, since it stacks additively, it's effects get weaker with each one you build, going from 100% to 110% is a 10% increase in gold pillaged, while going from 200% to 210% is only a 5% increase in gold pillaged.

No stealsies! :p jk

Hi there! I have couple of new nations' ideas:
1. Hospitaller Order
Leader:Jean Parisot de Vallete
UA - Pro Vide, Pro Utilitatum Hominum: Gain Gold, Culture and Science bonuses (depends on your faith per turn and game's era) whenever Great Prophet is born of city is converted to your religion. Great Prophets give 15% Combat Bonus to nearby units like Great General.
UU: Maltian Knight Replaces the Knight, has +1 Movement and +1 Sight. Can convert city to your religion like Missionare (only ones) and can be purchased by faith immediatlely.
UB - Hospitallers' Shelter: Replaces Temple. Give +1 Culture for every two followers of your religion in the city and costs no maintenanse.
2. Hanseatic League
Leader ???
UA: Trade Hegemony - Outcoming Sea Trade Roads gain 50% more Gold and +2 Gold for every Luxury Resourse worked by a city, and every incoming Sea Trade Road increases Gold output and Naval Units' Production Cost by 10%.
UU: Hanseatic Ship - replaces Galleas, costs more Production but has +1 Sight and +4 Range Power.
UB: Hanse - Replaces Bank. Can be built only in Coastal City. +1 Culture for every 2 Gold from Sea Trade Roads, +1 Gold from Cost tiles.
Germany unique building changed to new unique unit: Jagger(Rifleman). +3 Strength and 25% Combat Bonus on Forest or Hill tiles.
What do you think?

Oh, I understand how diminishing return works, I find it a bit worrying nonetheless that you can get double gold from taking cities simply for doing what you're supposed to do anyway. :p

Another idea, what do you guys think?

Ancient Rome

Glory of Rome
+10% Production towards Building production. Ancient and Classical Wonders may be built even if another civilization has already built them, but at double the cost.

Legion (Swordsman)
The Legion is more powerful than the Swordsman it replaces and can build roads and forts.

Thermae (Garden)
Provides +1 Happiness and Culture. Unlike the Garden it replaces, the Thermae can also be built in cities with an Aqeuduct. Requires Construction instead Theology.

Literally the most OP wonders in the game guaranteed (Petra, Colossus, Great Library, Temple of Artemis, Hanging Gardens)? What could go wrong?

The bonuses don't mesh at all, the UU is the vanilla Rome UU, and the UA is outright disgusting even if it turns out to be impossible to code - which, hey, it might not be, who knows.

But, y'know, aside from all that it's fine. =]

Aside from being terrible it's fine, sounds alright to me.

Put more thought into your designs, think about how the civ would play out in a game and whatnot. Like the UA is obviously overpowered, ancient and classical era wonders are some of the most important, being able to build all of them would be ridiculous.

May I suggest a Pinkerton Civilization? While not a civilization per say, they were a large enough organization to outgun the US military.

I would give them the following UA:

Can only build one city, gets a drastic discount when purchasing military units with gold.
