Civilization Request Thread

Personally I'd just like to see more Central Andes civs, there's like a dozen possibilities without even going for those "scratching the bottom of the barrel" options.

There have been a fair bit of the Andes that have peaked my eyes. Especially the Moche as they're definitely one of the few pre-Columbian civilizations that has me interested in doing.

No Prob. Though I feel like the design is OP but maybe that's my opinion. I don't think I'll make civs because it's too much time for me since I'm still in high school. but here it is:
Color (Yes I've thought of it too:crazyeye:): Reverse Timurid Color, so it's Grey/Bright Red
Jaunpur: (Sharqi Legacy) Ibrahim Shah
Cities never lose your religion’s beliefs as long as their is a follower of your religion in that city. Conquered cities have 50% less resistance and provide a large sum of :c5faith: .

Kashi Vishwanath: Replaces Grand Temple. Provides usual bonuses and +5 :c5gold: and +10% :c5production: to land units in the city it was built.

This is the temple at Varanasi which is important for Hindus. The idea stems from Eu4 with an event which makes you decide whether or not to tax incoming Pilgrams. Production is from the fact that Jaunpur was religiously tolerant and probably recruted a bunch of hindus (Though there isn't much on Jaunpur besides Eu4, which I tried to not dominate the whole civ.)

Sharqi Mosque: Replaces Temple. Provides a Great Work of Music :greatwork: and +2 :c5science: (Besides the original bonuses). Units built in a city with a Sharqi Mosque get bonuses for attacking cities with a different religion other than yours.

Jaunpur is known for their architecture and music (Great Slot of Music). +2 Science is for Ibrahim's pursuit of Islamic Knowledge. Promotion is for using the trait and for Muslims fighting for Religion. It can also replace Mosque but that would be too random for the AI IMO.

It's a wonderful idea. But I don't have the lua skill, time, or art skill. Just creativity :goodjob:.

I can see why it might be over powered. I'm not too fussed about the grand temple, but that Sharqi Mosque is too strong! +1 :c5happy: happiness, +2 :c5culture: culture and +3 :c5faith: faith and on top of that a Great Work of Music :greatwork: slot and +2 :c5science: science is a bit much. I like your creativity and linkage of history to game mechanic, but this needs to be tweaked a bit. Also what do you mean when you say, "Cities never lose your religion’s beliefs as long as their is a follower of your religion in that city." Also stating the colours of the civ is perfectly acceptable, at least by my standards.

EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT!
I've realized that the stats I used to show how the Sharqi Mosques was too strong are incorrect! The stats I stated were the stats of the normal mosques and not about temples, which the Sharqi Mosque replaces. So I'm going to edit what I said. Rather than having the Sharqi Mosque produce +2:c5science: science and have a Great Work of Music :greatwork: slot on top of of the original bonuses of the temples, have it so that the Sharqi Mosque produce +2 :c5culture: culture and +1 :c5science: science and have the Great Work of Art :greatwork: slot be replaced by the Great Work of Music :greatwork: slot instead.

For the Andes debate, I know we have a Nazca civ, an apparent Moche civ (and I think we have a Chimu civ, but I'm not sure). But we don't have a Paracas, Chavin, Tiwanku and Wari civ yet. These could be made and put together, along with the Nazca, Moche and Chimu and then put into a civilization pack or an Incan civ split. Sorta like Pouakai's India Civilization Pack,

There are 2 Chimu civs, though one is quite old. As for some other Andes civs they could be pulled out of the Rise and Fall of the Andes scenario, I think the scenario creator is okay with that.

There's no Moche civ as far as I know, there is, however, a Tiwanaku civ (very outdated though)

Will change. I mean that your religion that you founded will never lose your religion's beliefs as long s there's at least 1 follower in the city. (So if you're religion is Islam and you have a city with Hindu but you've have a Islamic follower in that city, you still retain Islamic bonuses in that city).

UB: Latverian Science Academy(University)

Looks like an Andes revival is in order! Question is, who's gonna do it?

Ah I see, so if that majority of that city is one religion, but you have at least one follower of yours, you will still retain the bonuses of your religion.

Correct! :goodjob: Hopefully someone will use it. But it's not a big deal if they don't.

This would be an interesting mechanic to build a civ around, (like Jaunpur). You wouldn't mind me using it in the Civ 5 Design Challenge II - Mechanics thread if I win a competition? I can always give you credit if needs be, hellYou could just enter the competition and if you win you could give themechanic to GPuzzle.

Btw here's the link for this challenge, http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=548166

Go ahead and use it :). You're interested in it and you understand the mechanic. Just give me credit for the design. But didn't the competition ended on the 15th?

Well, yeah. I had a few problems (tl;dr NaNoWriMo and studying), so it's getting back on December.

Great! The current competition ended on the 15th, but there will be others. Not sure when though.

Good, I can finish some loose ends before this starts up again, and maybe publish an ai game over on the subreddit. #shamelessselfpromotionisshameless

What do you mean by loose ends? I'm excited to see your AI game. What's it going to be on?

Oh just some irl work, for the AI game I'll be doing Afghanistan (and surrounding regions), the test run is all most up so when it does finish I'll go and tweak the map a bit, move some people around, (try to get the Samanids downloaded). It should be out by next week or so, (might be able to get it out this weekend though).
