The way I understood is, is that you pick a new trait every Era? Which may or may not be linked to your current Civ.

Not trying to be a Debbie downer but on a scale of 10 this is an instant -4 for me. They’re really going to have to Wow me now with gameplay… the Civ switching broke immersion so bad for me that I couldn’t even stomach playing Humandkind
I trust Ed, but I have concerns for sure.

The wording makes it seem like you pick a new civilization each Era, which is not buttering my bread rn. I'll wait and see to if it's any good, though.

Maybe instead of new civs, it''s pick between new leaders every era. Which I wouldn't mind that as much.

Did I post this one here yet?

So BASICALLY, the same leader selection criteria as Ara: History Untold (which has leaders such as Sappho, Cesare Beccaria and Jeanne d'Arc alongside the usual monarchs, chancellors and prime ministers)

I do like the idea of being able to pick leaders other than heads of state, like famous scientists to be your leader. And I love being able to pick new attributes throughout the game.

It sounds like civ7 will be much more flexible in the civ abilities.

I wonder if they started working on the core engine back before Humankind showed it wasn't great

I was about to say, the livechat is an absolute cesspit, which shouldn't be surprising, given this is THE game about nationalism

They've since disabled the chat lol.
