I so do want to see Lucius Brutus lead Rome. He practiced obfuscating stupidity after all.
You're thinking of Marcus Junius Brutus--Lucius was his ancestor. Is that one of Caesar's assassins? Or have I confused him with someone else?
Lucius Junius Brutus is one of the legendary gens Junia family members. It is said he basically founded the Republic by kicking out the tyrants of Rome.Is that one of Caesar's assassins? Or have I confused him with someone else?
I love the Caucasus region, both its history and its culture, and it is way overdue to see representation--but I feel like it should be Armenia or Georgia. In terms of cultural achievements, I'd vote Armenia, but in terms of big personality leaders I'd say you can't beat Tamar, which means I'd favor including Georgia over Armenia. Plus Georgia would be +1 non-Indo-European language, which is always a plus. (Although Armenian is an awesomely bizarre Indo-European language.)Caucasian Golden Age
Armenia - Tigranes II the Great (Industrial - he built several cities - and military civ)
Georgia - Tamar the Great (Religious and cultural civ)
Khazaria - Bulan (Religious - an actual judaic leader who os not israeli - and comercial civ)
Alternate leaders - Ateas for Scythia (capital : Kamianka)
When was the last time Haiti did anything significant? I'm gonna go with never...Haiti - Toussaint Louverture (Diplomatic and religious civ)
I'd love to see every significant power of the ancient Near East, from the obvious majors like Babylon and Persia to the most obscure like Elam, the Mitanni, and Urartu. Realistically, however, I think we have to temper our expectations. I'd rather see Babylon and one of the more marginal powers like Elam or Urartu than both Babylon and Assyria, which were culturally if not politically the same civilization.First Kingdoms
Assyria - Sennacherib (Military and cultural civ)
Babylon - Hammurabi (Scientific and diplomatic civ)
Hittites (Military and diplomatic civ)
Alternate leaders - Ur-Nammu for Sumeria (capital : Ur)
I personally don't like modern civilizations. The newest I like to go is like George Washington for the USA for example and I'd only go that new because the country isn't any older. I like to feel like I'm altering history.
Anywho, id love to see
1. Carthage
2. Babylon
3. Korea
4. Denmark
5. Portugal
6. Khmer
7. Byzantium
8. Inca
9. Maya
10. Osirian Empire
11. Rama Empire
12. Ottomans
13. The Moors
14. Mongols
15. Celts
16. Indus Valley
17. Thracians
18. Hittites
19. Troy
20. Goths/Visigoths
21. Siam
Good grief, no! Epic of Gilgamesh Sumer is bad enough.Yes Osirian is a specific time period of Egypt and Rama is an Indian civilization. Either could be represented by different rulers under Egypt and India.
I would like to see the Troy straight out of the Illiad and Odyssey.
Troy
Leader - King Priam
Civilization Trait - Mythic City of Homer: +2 Amenities in each city, +10% culture, +10% tourism.
Leader Trait - Beloved of Zeus: +5 opinion with all other leaders, trade routes give an extra +5 positive opinion with foreign civilizations and give both civs +2 gold. (Zeus intervened on King Priam's behalf, helping him retrieve his son's body)
Unique Unit - City Guard (replaces warrior): +15 strength while defending a district
Unique Building - Walls of Troy (replaces Ancient Walls): +10 city defense and +6 damage (same as the policy you can take)
Unique Project - Helen of Troy (can only be used if Sparta is in the game): gain permanent war with Sparta and Great General Helen (+5 str to all Ancient units within 2 hex or can be given to the soldiers for um experience).
A single city Civilization would be horrible. Venice was bad enough, but at least they had some mechanic via great merchants to operate. Plus Civ5 was far more based around fewer, taller cities. A single city in Civ6 would be hideously underpowered without some mechanic to balance them (without making them OP'd to their direct neighbours). If it wasn't single city, what other cities would they have?Yes Osirian is a specific time period of Egypt and Rama is an Indian civilization. On that, we agree ... With all accounts and sources we have about Sumeria, thay HAD to go with simplicity, and make this civ around a Babylonian epic ... I mean, I really badly wanted Sumer in the game, but having Gilgamesh as the leader and abilities revolving around the its epic really killed me ... Where are my Ur-Nammu, my Shulgi, my Eannatum, my Lugal-Zagezi ? So many names and they chose the legendary one ...Good grief, no! Epic of Gilgamesh Sumer is bad enough.![]()
To be fair, Gilgamesh (or Bilgamesh, rather) did exist, but we don't know much about him except that he was lugal of Ur. I could have lived with Gilgamesh had the civ itself actually reflected historical Sumeria, but as you say they just had to base the civ entirely on a Babylonian epic poem that was written down hundreds of years after the decline of Sumer with one of the more poorly attested out of dozens of Sumerian kings (and one queen). On that, we agree ... I'm really not fond at all on legendary civs we're not sure if they existed, and even if they did, certainly not in the way we imagine them. If Troy, an "Osirian" empire, a "Rama" empire or else can be added, then Firaxis could just go ahead and add a Tamriel civ, an Atlantid civ or anything else you could imagine ...
Not sure I mentioned it in this thread, but I have mentioned Austria elsewhere--though given the Germany that was released in game, I would suspect we're more likely to see Maria Theresa as a leader of Germany, given that Austria was a part of the HRE.I may have missed it in the thread but I'm a little surprised no one has ever listed Austria.
