Anyway... picking up from where we left.
As you saw from my last post I noticed the Kaiser had granted duchy of Brunswick to a mere boy 15 years of age. I had but a weak claim, and thus no time to waste.
Sadly, before I managed to reclaim my rightful title, particularly unpleasant news reached my capitol... and made me lose my "Stressed" trait.

Long story short: I took back Brunswick, killed Hugues the Cruel in battle, but was forced to concede a White Peace at 70% war score, due to Jewish money running out completely.
So, Christmas of 1141 saw Rollo having no money (income <5 gold per month), no troops and a single county to his name. But at least my vassals had forgotten rebellious thoughts for a while - to my surprise, White Peace apparently grants another +25 modifier to defeated nobless in addition to regular +25 "Crushed rebellion". I took a gamble and, defying my ongoing depression, switched out of Family Focus and adopted Espionage.
In July 1145, highwaymen kill fresh count of Brugge. Shortly, his underage son moves out, and Rollo moves his capitol back in.
November 1146 - my wife ****olds me with some Austrian duke. I direct my anger towards female sex at an innocent girl ruling Brabant and send her packing.
Quelle bordelle! One of my 7 daughters (widowed after the death of some German duke I wed her to in my desperate search for allies against rebels) has an illicit child.
Not wanting to show kind or arbitrary behavior, I gamble with RNG and end up getting Kinslayer and glorious diplo score of 0. Girl in question and her sister both get matrimarried to claimants to Iberian thrones. Meanwhile, duke of Flanders gets inexplicably captured and ransomed from time to time.
May 1148. Count of Breda has a tragic accident near scroll depository and his underage son proves unable to hold his title. By 1150, Rollo again reaches his demesne limit of 4.
Meanwhile, Fatimids have conquered Jerusalem and papacy decides to compensate by calling Crusade on England. They are not doing so well, though, since no one of note (read: HRE) bother to join. Rollo, torn between calling a separate Holy War for Normandy and joining the Crusade, finally decides for the latter.
On 15th of April, 1151, quiet private celebration is held in Brugge.
Rollo's wife's lover is elected as new Kaiser, while he adopts the moniker "Shadow".
December 1154. Crusade is won...with pretty unexpected results.
How am I going to set this abomination straight?

(the guy with the best claim was in my court... and celibate).
