Prime Minister Hugh Gaitskell today commited delegations to Ireland to prevent French forces from securing the island as a base against the British Navy. Mr. Gaitskell addressed the House of Commons this morning, declaring 'the solidarity of the British and Irish peoples against the authoritarianism of the communist bloc.'
"Make no mistake," he declared, "The Communists have long abandoned their commitment to the Socialist cause in favour of rule by military strongmen. It is our democratic imperative to stop the spread."
The foreign minister has also declared his intention to send envoys to other Democratic nations around the world, in hope of creating a united front for the promotion of peace and security around the world.

THE PEOPLE'S STONE- ROCHE, NORMANDY: There has been an alarming trend in the capito-fascist world, where numerous nations are attempting to attack the legitimacy of the French state and her character of her citizens. These unprecedented slanders have come seemingly out of the blue, with no real reason or origin.
"I don't get it," said a minor Party spokeswoman, "why other nations view the need to insult France. We haven't even /done/ anything that would even merit the kind of antipathy normally reserved for pariahs. No wars, no gaffes, nothing. The origin of these attacks lie in Brazil, where the corportaist Nosdrachian state is based upon the open and blatant exploration of the proletariat. More of a rouge company that took over a state rather than an actual nation of its own, Nosdracha follows the capitalist standard of butchering culture by creating and monetizing "songs" to use for advertisement.
In the most recently revealed song for these purposes, "The Strong Prevails - The Weak Perish!", contains a not-subtle reference to France and the characteristics of the biology of her female citizens. Namely, the song tries to insinuate the listener is an idiot (in order to make them more prospective to buy their exploitative goods), by comparing the listener to a defective bodypart. However, the exact comparison used is that the listener is as "whet as a Frenchwoman's spine"
"This is simply slanderous lies," the spokeswoman said, "Firstly, France, as a free communist nation separated from the destructive corporate-fascist ways, demonstrably shows more courage and bravery than any of the fatcat bourgeois who run that insidious company. However, while Frenchwomen are certainly outraged over this low blow, the nation's attentions have turned to across the channel, towards the Kingdom of Great Britain. Recently, the reactionary government own news broadcast company has declared that they were going to move into the island of Ireland, citing the imaged threat of a French invasion of Ireland.

The Death of a Titan
Ferrol, Galicia, Spain: We are today making a most unfortunate announcement. Today, at the ripe age of 68, our beloved leader, Francisco Franco has left us. Currently we are reporting from the city of Ferrol, his home town, where the funeral is held. It is a truly hearthbreaking ceremony, as men and women of Spain take their farewells with him for one last time.

The deeds he has done for Spain and numerous. It would be tiring to list them all, but we will allow ourselves to make a list, despite the fact that it will never be able to do proper justice.
His first appearances are in the during the War, when the greedy monarchists, in a foolish bid for colonies attacked a number of nations in Africa, believing that events in Europe would prevent adequate reaction towards Spain's aggression. It was inevitable; his detachment was captured and Franco became a prisoner of war.
This period is important, as it formed Franco's character and his political beliefs. He despised the monarchy, as the sole reason for the war, as their greed resulted into the the post-war crisis. That didn't mean he didn't ally any monarchists - he wanted the Spanish Republic down as much as them, but after the Civil War he left them in the dark as he took total power. The time spent in a French prisoner camp didn't exactly help foster good emotions towards France, but it did lead to an encounter with a German prisoner, who told him how things work in Prussia. He immediately loved the system - the aristocracy, the imperial staff, the ceremonies. It isn't surprising that in his latter years during the 1950s he essentially venerated Prussia.
In 1922, eventually, he was let out of the camp. The Spain he left for Morocco in 1914 was completely different than the one in 1922. Secularisation? Of the Catholic Church? Communists backed up by different countries, instead of being hunted, are now leading the country? Truly, dark times have began for Spain. The post-war crisis was crippling the nation, and the invertebrates ruling it were only making it worse. Unemployment was racing record levels, businesses were dying a slow death.
He wasn't the only one thinking so.
Ex-military Monarchists preparing for war.
Many monarchists and far-right parties thought the same. One day, in a sunny morning of spring 1925, an attempt for coup d'etat began. It went badly, as it was rather botched. One would think that this won't spark off a war.
They were wrong. It would be stupid to believe that only a number of people want the Republicans down. The failed coup merely was the beginning of the war. In multiple places, revolts exploded. Fighting was heavy almost everywhere - from Galicia to Catalonia, the country was set ablaze.
Perhaps however the proclamation of José Sanjurjo was the first actual attempt at an actual army, as up until then, the fighting was sporadic and spread out. In one place, the Nationalists, as they called themselves, might rebel and take over, later on they might be defeated.
The Ejercto de Liberación de España was the first Nationalist army, numbering 25,000 soldiers from different places - mostly, Galicia, Asturias and Castille. And so, they started their march towards Madrid, while destroying any communist/anarchists.
As the army marched, so did it's size increase. By the time, 50,000 Spanish nationalists, monarchists and simple people angered by the atrocities that the communists and anarchists have done for their few years in control of Spain. Anti-clericalism, and many other policies clearly not meant for the Spain's good, which have resulted into the outrage of normal and simple people against the numerous occasions the evil communists have oppressed them, resulting into a wide-spread support of the Nationalist cause.
Once Madrid fell, the next direction was the nest where all the socialists, communists and anarchists. Barcelona. A true Sodom and Gomorrah, filled with vile creatures that could be no longer be called humans. A crusade for cleansing the city of Barcelona of them would be only a logical conclusion of all the events that happened.
While that was a certainly noble goal, that happened way after that. Perhaps, the capture of Madrid was a sign this war will be over. However, the wretched scum did not give up easily. Catalonia, alongside most of Southern Spain weren't willing to bow down to the holy cause that God has bestowed upon us. However, a surprising and rather pleasant to us help came from our brothers in Portugal - they gave us supplies, weapons, and a safe port for our ships. Moreover, a shipment of tanks and advanced for it's time weaponry came from Prussia, which solidified relations, and meant Spain would be a natural ally to them, considering the enemies of Spain, namely France and the Internationale, were also enemies of Prussia.
For Spain! For victory!
Epic fights, as the Nationalist army marched through Southern Spain, began. Up to that moment, only the city of Madrid was where fighting was intense. Now, a true war has began. A war to determine the victor, and the ruler of Spain had began. The Battle of Seville was the most severe of all the battles, and where, an unfortunate loss happened - the leader of the Falange, as the movement became known, Jose Sanjurjo, had died during the battle. And then, our leader and gift from God himself, Francisco Franco, took the torch that would illuminate and burn the dark fiends of communism and anarchism in Catalonia and elsewhere.
Some traitors like to claim that Franco actually shot Jose Sanjurjo so he could take power. Those fools, however, don't live long, as their punishment is swift. And deadly. Their corpses usually aren't found, either.
With Franco taking control of the Army, the tactics changed. Instead of trying to break through Murcia, as the original plan was, he waited around in Seville. And was he rewarded for that. Tanks, guns, weapons that were state-of-the-art at that time, all Prussian-made, arrived, all for taking.
It was time for the reconquista to end. Once and for all. The battles soon became curbstompings, as the vastly better armed Nationalist army was crushing them on all fronts. Soon, Barcelona fell. And the Civil War ended. Once and for all.
We could go on for eternity, but Franco has done many and innumerable things for Spain and the Spanish people, and there is no need to repeat ourselves.

Five Years Economic Plan

President Andreas Papandreou has announced the beginning of a Five Years Economic Plan for the economic development of Crete-Cyprus. The new plan is expected to increase by 400% the national income of Crete-Cyprus through a large scale industrialization on unseen scale. New factories will be build to increase the Industrial Production which in turn shall increase the GDP. The program is expected to be completed by 1964.
In order to achieve this goal, the PASOK government has borrowed heavily from the Kingdom of Avalon, UAR and the Chinese Yuan Dynasty. The government believes that by 1964 it will be able to repay all loans, thus in 1965 Crete-Cyprus will have no debt at all. The money from the loans shall all be used for the construction of new Factories in Cyprus and Crete.
The new Factories will be owned by the state, as the Socialist PASOK government promises to lead Crete-Cyprus towards a new Socialist future. The conditions in the factories and the worker's rights will also be guaranteed. The Five Years Plan brings into mind the Communist planned economies, but PASOK has stated that it is a Socialist, not a Communist, Party and thus wants a mixed economy instead of a completely state owned economy.
The spokesperson of New Democracy, the right wing opposition, has stated that it is regrettable that the government has formulated a plan that extends well beyond it's current term, as Crete-Cyprus will see elections in 1961, and that the massive borrowing will bury the economy under a huge foreign debt. The spokesperson of the Communist Party has said that while the creation of new state owned factories was a good plan by the government, the massive borrowing will make the state dependable on foreign powers.
Nikolaos Hatzykyriakos, our analyst, said: "The 1961 elections will not change anything. PASOK is expected to win by a large margin and unless something really terrible happens, it is impossible to see a defeat of PASOK. About the loans, the government can repay them by 1964, as long as it can proceed with it's industrialization program without being disrupted. It is impossible to develop fast the Crete-Cyprus economy right now without borrowing money. Even members of New Democracy have admitted this, but as elections are close, they try to play the fear card in order to gain votes."

The leader of New Democracy and former President of Crete-Cyprus in the period 1953 - 1957, Konstantinos Karamanlis, flexes his muscles in preparation for next year's elections. He has toured Cyprus, visiting not only major cities, but also villages, even small ones. This has caused some satire both by his political enemies and the newspapers, with cartoons showing him as "explorer" and PASOK members calling him "the traveler" or "the tourist".
Mr. Konstantinos Karamanlis has been wearing simple everyday clothes without tie, a constant when compared to the Socialists of PASOK who always were a tie nowadays. Analysts have said that the leader of ND tries to gain the support of unconventional voters while also showing that he is in contact with the people. This is reinforced by the fact that he talks with common people in each village he visits and allows the people to ask him questions.
He has also defended his Presidency. He has stated that the current industry of Crete-Cyprus was his own achievement and that the fact that Crete-Cyprus has an air force is also an other personal achievement of his. Indeed, the air force of Crete-Cyprus was created at the time of his Presidency while the economy grew. However, the growth was too slow and PASOK's message of a new Socialist future and of giving the left a chance allowed them to win decisively in the 1957 elections the right wing New Democracy.
Konstantinos Karamanlis is the only right wing politician to become a President of Crete-Cyprus, as the Liberal Party before him was Centrist. However, the domination of the right wing in 1953 - 1957 was quite short lived as the Socialist PASOK won the 1957 elections and is expected to win decisively the 1961 elections too. Indeed, despite the best efforts of Konstantinos Karamanlis to get closer to the people and to tour the entire country, his party is expected to win only about 30% - 32% in the upcoming elections while PASOK is expected by polls to win by at least 65%, almost double the number of voters of ND.
