A wise old man of my acquaintance once told me "Amateurs study tactics, professionals study logistics", so time for a lesson in logistics.
Spent some time with the map drawing lines to find rthe shortest routes to the Chinese mainland. Then set up the boats and the training schedules to match.
Then changed civics to a wartime footing (Theocracy)
Swapped all the trebs into galleons and moved them to our holdings on the Korean island for their upgrade to cannons. Then moved them back to be in position to attack Beijing.
Sold Liberalism to Qin to empty his treasury as I didn't want to be facing too many rifles.
Once all were in place
First attack was at Chengdu - We are going to need it for a staging depot and Wang will never capture the town
Then it was on to Beijing
The navy took some losses cleaning Chinese caravels out of the strait but the assault on the town went like a hot knife through butter. Qin had moved his rifles out of town!
In for the kill!
Lost a single cannon. City Raider, Barrage, and Accuracy promoted cannons are deadly to city defenders after the walls are battered down.
Chengdu also fell and we took no losses.
Bought Nationalism from Alexander in exchange for Economics and Liberalism and changed civics again to Nationhood for the barracks happiness as the natives were getting restless at home and abroad.
Then swapped Economics to Washington and opened the borders to him to get another trade boost.
After all needed upgrades were done set the scientists to learning Printing Press as it is needed for Rifles and we get a commerce boost from maturing cottages.
Then load out the boats and up the coast to Shanghai.
Meanwhile, Qin attacked Beijing with a single rifleman, scoring a grenadier. He was soon dead, however. And that was the extent of the Chinese counter.
And Shanghai collapsed under the weight of Spanish cannon
And load out the boats and head north to Guangzhou.
Qin was a pushover!
We need some worker turns in various places so I am shifting the workers from home to the outislands. Take a worker in every shipload from home and drop them off where they can do some good.
Havana is back to training missionaries to spread the faith to our new holdings. Include a missionary in every boatload too.
Tactics are based on naval movement of troops. I have a small force in the center of the Chinese home island to cover against any incursions from Guangzhou south but those are the only troops on land outside of the captured cities.
Millitary Tradition should open up to us soon, grab it when you can and pay whatever it takes. And don't worry about selling tech to raise cash if you need it. Keep the scinetists focuses on the tech path to Infantry and and bigger boats. The next generals we get should travel back home for Military Acadamies in Madrid and Porkopolis and Tolosa. Do not attach a general to a a trooper!
Once Qin is whipped we may want to put the Ironworks on the Chinese mainland, it seems to have good mix of hammer heavy terrain with the proper land management.
Had to raise the entertainment impost a bit - though that will also work to our advantage as the Chinese cities come out of resistance.
