So I just stumbled on this mod 2 days ago, somehow I was unaware of this for so long. I guess it's because I was sure that everything can be found on steam workshop.
I decided to use the community patch only (CP = bugfixing and AI improvement, am I right?), because I'm conservative like that and feel uncomfortable getting used to new rules and changes etc (CBP, am I right?). Is that a good call, or is it designed to work better with CBP?
Anyway, as I tested CP, EUI and a few others, some questions arised. Only played one game, so can't really say anything yet about AI's being or not, more formidable.
But what's with all the defensive pacts? I was spammed all the time with those, it seemed like everyone was in DP with me like I was some holy protector for them... or maybe they all were in pact with each other too, I don't know. One even gave me a luxury for the privilege (I'm sure others would have too, if I had figured this out earlier and asked).
Then onto other deals... My friends it seemed (or one of them, not sure) actually INSISTED that upon exchanging luxuries HE would actually give me an extra 7gpt? :O
Then on the other hand Attila comes to renew open borders and absolutely insists I'll give him 1 horse, not 5gpt, nor 11gpt was gonna do it, just 1 horse. :O
Pocatello comes and again insists I take 5 iron from him for something, I don't quite remember what, open borders probably. "Can I take 5 or 4gpt instead? NO! You take iron, it's good iron!" It was middle ages, so iron was indeed quite useful (especially with a mod I played with, that makes knights require 1 horse and 1 iron, among other things).
So my question is, what is all that about? Is there some logic beyond this sudden fever of generosity and some odd requests (lika Attila's need for 1 horse) form AI, or is that all just some random bugginess or something? Cause if there is a though behind all that, I'm all for it as long as I know what, where, why?
