Community Patch - How To Install

Hi Folks,
I have a Problem:
I have a different UI, followed your instructions (EUI CBP in DLC) and all other Mods inkl Luxuries in the Mod folder.
The Ui changes but I am not able to change my production in the city...
Any advice for this :) ?
Thx

Please submit a bug report to the bug reports thread, not here. That said, you need to put EUI-CBP in the MODS folder, and EUI in the DLC folder. Make sure you delete the LUA folders in the CP and CBP.

So I just stumbled on this mod 2 days ago, somehow I was unaware of this for so long. I guess it's because I was sure that everything can be found on steam workshop. :cringe:

I decided to use the community patch only (CP = bugfixing and AI improvement, am I right?), because I'm conservative like that and feel uncomfortable getting used to new rules and changes etc (CBP, am I right?). Is that a good call, or is it designed to work better with CBP?

Anyway, as I tested CP, EUI and a few others, some questions arised. Only played one game, so can't really say anything yet about AI's being or not, more formidable.
But what's with all the defensive pacts? I was spammed all the time with those, it seemed like everyone was in DP with me like I was some holy protector for them... or maybe they all were in pact with each other too, I don't know. One even gave me a luxury for the privilege (I'm sure others would have too, if I had figured this out earlier and asked).
Then onto other deals... My friends it seemed (or one of them, not sure) actually INSISTED that upon exchanging luxuries HE would actually give me an extra 7gpt? :O
Then on the other hand Attila comes to renew open borders and absolutely insists I'll give him 1 horse, not 5gpt, nor 11gpt was gonna do it, just 1 horse. :O
Pocatello comes and again insists I take 5 iron from him for something, I don't quite remember what, open borders probably. "Can I take 5 or 4gpt instead? NO! You take iron, it's good iron!" It was middle ages, so iron was indeed quite useful (especially with a mod I played with, that makes knights require 1 horse and 1 iron, among other things).

So my question is, what is all that about? Is there some logic beyond this sudden fever of generosity and some odd requests (lika Attila's need for 1 horse) form AI, or is that all just some random bugginess or something? Cause if there is a though behind all that, I'm all for it as long as I know what, where, why? :D

Updated to the latest version and when I mouseover buildings or units in the production menu I'm getting a tooltip which says 'brief description' and the expanded thumbnail for the item is blank.

Tried removing everything and reinstalling it but still the same.
I moved the compatibility (tooltip and utilities)) files for the compatibility mod into the EUI core folder.

Also, the leader screens are displaying no options for diplomacy, its just the leader animation with no buttons and i have to press 'esc' to return to the game. Is this normal? I'm still early game and don't know if diplomacy options appear later with this mod.

Great mod, and thanks for your hard work.

Dont move the tooltp and utilities files to the EUI folder. Everything was working fine for me then I noticed the readme said to move those files over and after I did that I had the same problem you described.

Not sure whats causing the issue with the leader screens.

Delete the lua folders in the CP and CBP. If you don't do that, you'll have UI bugs.

Also, yes, that instruction file in EUI-CBP is old - I'll update for next version.

Thanks! This solved both my problems, the leader screen must have been connected to the same issue.

Quick question, If a savegame from a previous CP version loads up without crashing, will it continue the game running the new version of CP? or will it cause issues 'under the hood'

New versions of CP are never savegame compatible, as I almost always add new data that won't initialize properly.

Flowchart is looking good.

Still another question: On this thread Gazebo you mention to download the "normal" versions of C4DF in the case of not using the CBP. C4DF has only one version, which includes a modified DLL in the VFS. This of course locks the application with the CP.

whoward's pnm component has the same paradox since it, too, requires Putmalk's mod.
What file is supposed to work?

Download the one with the DLL, delete the DLL. If there is no file for it to load in the folder, that VFS command simply fails gracefully.

Can you answer my previous post, please? Also where can I find elaborate list of what is affected/changed in just the CP?

I know this may sound stupid and all, but how do I install Community Patch and Community Patch only? I have downloaded it, put in the MODS folder in Civ5 folder, what should I do next? One of the mods isn't working without it.

Another dumb question.
I can't activate the CP (v.66) in the mod menu. It says that my game version(1.0.3.279) is not compatible with the mod.
I have the 6 Civs from DLC.

Yes, on mac.
Not sure how to check version on Steam.
Civilization V: Brave New World.app is 1.3.8

I've got the exact same issue, mods appear ok but the community patch doesn't like the version, when you open it the version is valid for 1 to 1. I wonder if its just a case of changing this so its available for all versions, no idea how to configure this so any info would be great

Also, there doesn't appear to be any additional extras in the DLC menu, not sure if there should be but i was expecting to see 1 as i copied the Ul_bc01 folder in here

EDIT :Ah, ignore that, just seen the answer :( oh well

Sorry. Bootcamp or Parallels would solve this for you.
