You can not do these actions to my knowledge. The dll of the Community Patch is the reason for this, because it injects several different things and CIV V has a special procedure to process this data. Moreover it is not recommended to do these actions, nor to load a save game while being in game. This can break the Mod in you session then or will result in a CTD.

Cyberian, there is a mod which you can use instead of restarting, but it has its pros and cons. See my post #49 in this thread:

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=557040

I suggest to also read the following posts, where people explain the pros and cons.

Gazebo, I suggets to remove or disable the Restart button, if it does not work - same as the Load button.

Hotfix uploaded for CP, CBP and compatibility files. Fixes a compiler error and two small oversights. Should be savegame compatible, though clear your cache. If your save game crashes with the new CBP, use the previous CBP with this version of the CP and you should be good to go.

EUI does not appear to be working with download. Tried it a few times, deleting and reinstalling and verifying cache. Everything displays across the top as 000,000 and unable to click help or menu buttons. Guessing it was an issue with the update as these worked with the previous version I was using.

When people say clear your cache, they don't mean "Verify integrity of game cache" in steam library>properties. It means delete everything inside the cache folder in Documents>My Games>Sid Meier's Civilization 5>cache

I'm not sure you're doing the steam thing but it sounds like that from what you said.

Yeah, sounds like it and it could be causing his problem.

If the problem persists and the top panel is still broken, then I am 90% sure EUI is not going to the right folder. Please check where your game is located, and then when you run the autoinstall, make sure that the path for EUI in the install dialog is correct. See the bug thread, we were solving the same problem with another user during weekend, so you can find all the info there. Sorry, I am on my cell now and on the run, but it should be easy to look it up that thread.

Im unable to find the fix you mentioned before. Ive tried both verifying via steam, and just clearing the cache manually. Neither seems to help. Ive tried them on fresh installs of the mod pack individually and in tandem. If you are no longer on your phone, or if someone else can link me to the fix you mentioned, I would greatly appreciate it.

Ok, I am on my computer now. Actually the fix in this thread, just scroll back to post #1151. Are you getting the same top panel as seen in the screenshot? If yes, then I am pretty sure your steam/Civ5 folder is different from default. You have make sure EUI goes to the right folder when you install CBP. Follow my and Estebanium's posts after #1151.

Just to clarify, verifying the game via steam and clearing the cache are 2 completely different things. You do not have to verify the game via Steam unless you think your Civ5 installation is corrupted. However you should always delete the contents of the cache and ModUserData folders after installation of a new version of CBP.

Let me know if the fix worked for you. If not, we can try to fix it together step by step.

No, I went back and looked and everything has gone to the proper directory. I am getting what that screen shot showed, as well as being unable to see or select from the technology screen. I thought I would try advancing a turn to see if that helped but was unable to. Any advice you could give would be great help, as I would like to play with the EUI, but if nothing works, I can always try without.

One possibility is that the game is installed on my E drive, while the mods and everything pertaining to them is on my C drive, but it was that way before so I dont see how that would cause an issue.

I am pretty sure this is the reason. Can you find EUI (= "UI_bc1") in this folder?

E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\assets\DLC\UI_bc1

... or does the folder structure at least look like this?

E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\assets\DLC\

When you run the auto-install, you will be prompted for the MODs folder (this is where CBP goes) and the game/DLC folder (this where EUI goes). Did you update the game folder from drive C: (default) to E:?

The structure is the second one. The first structure is what it looks like on the C drive. When I do a fresh install of the civ on the E drive, some things are placed in the E drive, others are placed on the C. should i put the EUI just the DLC folder of E drive and not the UI_bc1? because that only exists on the C drive.

(Also, I attempted to run the installation of the EUI to the E drive DLC folder, still got the same graphical error.)

You mean you ran the auto-install and changed the path for EUI to this?

E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\assets\DLC\

And did it create the UC_bc1 folder there?

It is not a "clean" thing to do, but I would actually even try to copy the UC_bc1 folder to the E: drive and keep both copies:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\assets\DLC\UC_bc1

and

E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\assets\DLC\UC_bc1

One more question: you do not happen to have a copy of the original stand-alone EUI installed somewhere, right? If yes, then it could be conflicting with the CBP one.

That did it, posting the file into the E drive did the trick. EUI is smooth and perfect. I was working with a fresh install of the game from this afternoon, so I know I didnt have any mods other than this one on there. I guess it just wrote the file into the wrong drive for it to work properly. Thanks a million for all your help. Now to play some domination games.

Hi all!

I saw this mod on Arumba's YouTube channel and wanted to give it a go. Unfortunately I don't seem to be able to get it to work properly.

I used a clean Civ5 installation from Steam (with all DLC except the Scrambled Map packs).
I tried both the Community Patch Project Full (EUI Version) as the (No-EUI Version).
In both cases the tech tree is unchanged.
When using the EUI version I get "Assets\DLC\UI_bc1\Core\EUI_tooltips.lua:[value]: attempt to call field '[FieldName]' (a nil value)" for every tooltip that has been changed.
I do get the changed UI when EUI is installed and the bar at the top of the page is working properly.

Apart from the auto-installs, I also tried a manual install. I followed the how-to-install pdf in combination with the checklist provided on the first page of this thread.
I deleted my cache, logs, and moduserdata before installing.
My folders (\Mods and \DLC) look exactly the same as shown in the pdf manual. So I know the auto-installer has selected the correct paths.

I thought at first it might be something to do with admin rights, but running Civ5 in admin mode does not have any effect.

Does anybody have any idea why the mod isn't working?
