Community Patch - How To Install

For some reason I dont seem to be able find this from my mods. I have added community patch to steam and after that runned automatic installer found from first page. Communitas patch itself is found from my mods but separate components like city state diplomacy is not

You need to download the installation pack using a link posted in CivFanatics (look for current version). The Vox Populi is not available on Steam. Also, to avoid potential conflicts, better unsubscribe from Steam’s Community Patch. CP is included in the VP installation pack.

Okay I have another problem now.. The game crashes to desktop(no eui) while on loading screen, towards the end of the speech about the leader. I tried EUI version too - comes up with errors of loading textures or some other weird things. Any ideas?

Dude, I got the newest version of the game. If you don't know the reason why my game crashes after I install the mod - then don't say anyting.

@Onlyforward You need the complete game, with all DLCs. Maybe you are missing some components. Also, make sure first that the game starts without any mods, vanilla style.

I have the complete game, with all the DLC's, I managed to start the game without any MODS successfully. I have tried all those basic things to ensure that the problem is somewhere else. I had my hard drive changed recently and there seems to be some problem with my nvidia geforce graphic card. That might be the case - I am currently trying to launch the game and see if I have fixed the problem.


UPDATE: Everything seems to be working fine so far. At least I managed to start the game and do few turns already. The problem was with my graphics card. Thank you anyways.

i think you did have the complete game with all the dlcs but the pirated one. you have absolutely NO problem if it's a LEGIT copy, used the auto installer and of course if your PC has the specs to run the game.

edit: again for the nth time, most people who encountered problem like yours are using the pirated copy. using mods will get you nowhere.

I have just downloaded the modpack to play online and I am struggling to make it work. When just playing the game in single player once the initial city is settled I cannot select any production and cannot get out of the city screen if I select the city directly. Having just tried ignored this and tried playing online both me and my friend who I want to play it with are encountering the issue and cannot seem to fix it. Any ideas on what it may be guys?

Hello, I'm trying to make VP mods work but I'm stuck with social politics error.On bug thread author said it's mod conflict but it's same even with all other mods off.Besides that my game looks fine.

@Danken 1. Clear cache and logs. 2. Remove VP folders (1-6). 3. Install VP. 4. Enjoy the game.

For steam install, check for steam client updates. Than go into Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity Of Game Files. Delete everything in the mods folder. Use default settings of config.ini and graphic settings,re-install VP. Use latest version with hotfixes.

If none of the above helps, check if:
1) You have the latest version of the game. It ends with. 279, you can check under the main menu after you start the game
2) Check if you have all the DLCs
3) Check if you are not subscribed to the Community Patch or any mod which using Whoward's Various Components DLL on Steam. If you are, unsubscribe
4) Manually delete cache and ModUserData folders. Move or delete all the mods in the MODs folder
5) Download the latest VP
6) Run the autoinstaller (and do not alter or delete anything manually)
7) Check that you can see all the VP components in the MODs folder (typically (1) - (6), depending on the chosen type of installation) = VP ended up in the correct location
8) Run the game, activate all the VP mod components and then don't forget to click Next (do not press the Back button).

If none of this helps, then your computer is cursed and nobody can help you

Hey All, LOVE the mod. First mod I've ever downloaded and it went smoothly! The game is significantly better now, in my opinion!

Only problem is, I don't have the Zeppelin artwork, so I get an error message every time something happens once I reach the point where it is either being researched or an option to build. (It shows up as a green square). Do I need gods and kings or any other DLC for this? Really no idea where to start for fixing this.

@The Impaler, see the requirements in hue install thread. You need ALL the DLCs, not just GK. I am surprised you managed to run the mod and got so far in the game, I'd expect a crash much earlier.

Just buy the complete edition, it is very cheap these days (don't make the mistake of buying the DLCs one by one).

Huh, interesting. will do thanks! (as a side note, played a 22 civ game to completion with really the only 2 problems being audio disappearance in the later half and then Zeppelin bug)

I made this video to show what happens when i install Vox Populi, i have all dlcs, the exact game version required and yet i can't see many of the changes like the Tech Tree, Social Policies and probably even more things that i don't see since i stop playing right after seeing that those don't change. I even tried manually installing the mod and did everything like on the guide and same result. I also uninstalled the game and installed it all over again but always the same. I really want to play with Vox Populi :/
