Computer Questions Not Worth Their Own Thread II

Keep hitting the End key until it stops but that takes a long time. Or turn off Javascript temporarily.

Its lame, I know

Many times being 1 right? End key takes you to the end of a line or page. Pg Dn takes you down a page.

The page loads new information as you get to the bottom of the page. So you'd need to get to the end what the page things page 1 is to get to the bottom of the links.

Or hit the esc key as it's loading new information.

Hmm, interesting. I hit end once and Im at the bottom of the page. And nothing new loads. I checked an no-script has the page whitelisted, so it should be able to run scripts.

Speaking of Steam, I've recently been getting severe, irregular lagspikes on a lot of my Steam games. Can anyone recommend a method of correcting such a problem?

You mean like LED monitor vs LCD? Cus those are kind of the same thing. LED panels use LED's for the backlighting, instead of CCFL's.

With LED backlighting you can get a much better light gradient. The monitor may be able to turn off smaller regions of backlighting and give you much better contrasts that way, as well as a better looking black. Plus they tend to draw less power, so the overall savings don't end at purchase time.

How do you put jewel-case CDs in a box to prevent the cases from getting cracked? Should I use newspaper or something else?

EDIT: I just posted it in this thread cos I think this is the wrong place

So how can I transfer like.large files/programms/games taking up loads of space on my laptop onto my newly purchased external harddrive?

Is there anyway I can set my external hardrive as the first place for any new downloaded material, programmes or games to be stored?

I don't think you can transfer programs/games that need to be installed without reinstalling them (because often those programs scatter files all over the drive). But large files you can plug it in and probably do a direct file copy. Portable apps are ok too. Not sure about setting it as first place.

Ok so I have a folder on my computer and my laptop. I want to sync them up. I usually do it with my USB stick but it gets really messy after a while. Is there a way to do it free over internet? My "home computer" is turned on nearly all the time.

Im making a program in VB, but I cant save the settings (checkbox checked or unchecked), I tried everything but I can only save Textboxs, can someone post the code or something so I can make a program were you click on a button and it saves all the checkboxs (checked, unchecked)

My video card went bad this week. I'm looking for video card suggestions, to replace/improve on a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT card, in the $100-$200 range. I want to be able to play Oblivion and the next Elderscrolls installment (I don't think any specs have been released yet). Thank you in advance for your replies.

I recommend this Radeon 6870, should yield more than 2x the performance (of the 8800 GTX) for $189.99
