Checking reg svn version.
Will try to get the module activated tonight and check to see if it's working.
Ok reg SVN works perfectly. Copy has updated, and I have a personal copy on desktop.
Going to experiment with downloaded version only and will update you tomorrow. Thanks DH.

Wrong thread, see your looking at one thing in your mind and concentrating on another, i just mentioned that a few posts ago, maintaining stuff, its hard, but this seems to be in the realm of it:( No offense to YOU, but i suggest, and only suggest, that you bow out of the MP game THIS time, since your having so many problems, and just cant be there all the time, its just not fair to the others. (again No Offense).:mischief:
 
I will edit my post appropriately to end confusion. I have the reg svn installed with my folder accessible and am experimenting with it on my pc. I won't update until I am comfortable with it.
Sometimes it is better to keep it simple. (I think the mp game is progressing fine 4 turns, just need authorization it looks like.)

I want to at least start a new updated SVN game and play through the prehistoric to see how events and flow played out. I'm almost done.
I could also load the Stone Age mod, if it is working,and check it out to get a feel.
So we can start talking about it.

If you are waiting for a posted experiment, it will take a little while to do a tweak, and make sure I am careful with uploading to the SVN.

Ack, got sucked into just playing C2C, and found myself past the prehistoric era....sorry guys!!!

Getting back to the Stone Age Events..

@Nimek, I'm sure that it with get alot of attention when the
Epic Nomadic Start to C2C becomes a focus.

I'm hoping we can lay out some great ideas in discussion, because A great and EPIC start(and finish) to C2C will set the pace for Caveman2Cosmos as a truly Epic Expansion (if it isn't obvious already) and it can be a perfect introduction to new players, especially when Multi-Maps gets C2C lots of extra attention!!!
I'm not the only who can suggest prehistoric events, there is some great fiction and links floating around the web on prehistory if people want to bring them up!!! hint hint!!

since I am ready to talk about this, and since others are suggesting updating the way events are handled.

I will have nothing to offer v29, but I am actively experimenting with the stone age events,
-so that I will be regularly working my SVN folder in the immediate future.

- I have shifted my immediate focus from PR to stone age events.
- I will continue to maintain, as well as step up my Official PR efforts as C2C - PR & Marketing director, and will revise and upgrade our PR thread, as well as launch a more visible and clear campaign, immediately after I have officially started regular modding contributions, and successfully integrated them into my schedule this month. In fact I plan on making some useful marketing material, and start on a Epic C2C promotional video after v29.
- I understand that there is recent discussion to rework the event system for C2C.
- I appreciate everyone's patience.
- I plan on sharing my progress soon.
 
I'm not thinking the event system rework is on anyone's immediate project horizon. In the meantime, yes, further development of more events will probably be incredibly helpful to balance the event system as it is now, particularly in the stone age. So this is definitely appreciated!

For each Stone Age event we need to put together the information we need to decide if it is, or could be made, useful for C2C. I am not yet sure what that information is or the best format.

Event 1 Cooked Food
  • 2 variations
    1. In their attempt to find a way to conserve food, %s1_civ_adjective tribe has accidentally learned the benefits of Cooked Food.
    2. One of our tribe members has accidentally found a way to get more digestible food by putting it over fire for a short period of time.
  • Free Tech TECH_COOKED_FOOD
  • Prereq
    • Techs TECH_THE_FIRE (TECH_CONTROLLED_FIRE in C2C) and TECH_GRAIN_GATHERING
    • Other nation has the tech (variation 1)
    • Unhealthy city (variation 2)

Since almost all cities start out as unhealthy this may fire too often in C2C, but looks like a good event at first glance.

Event 2 Best Hunters

Almost completely unusable as stands (wrong units/promotions et al) for C2C but the ideas may be salvaged.

Okay to start. I will go over the list and break down the events.
Following your lead I will use your format to break down the list.

I see 3 steps to be followed.

>1. Break down list. Found files, updated svn, installed notepad++, Making a list.
I will post results. And I will locate and compare it to the existing event lists in C2C.


2. make sure I have working svn. (it is synced now) I will upload a blank txt file per SO's or DH's ok when they give it.

3. upload 1st event or (2nd since you did 1st) to modules folder?

4. I may have to reinstall win8 to get tortoise working. Win 8 Pro may be the issue.
I can't seem to get user acct to override "need to elevate".
Works with the admin acct, but admin has limitations.
Dislike having to switch accts constantly just to update.
(my current solution is to virtulize win 7 in hyper-v - works with winpro)
Will wait until later.

Thought I'd update everyone on finally making progress.
(also, when possible, I am working with MrAzure (and anyone else, like Thunderbrd) on updating and improving Moddb content for marketing purposes.
Video work will follow now that I have a few partners.)

StrategyOnly has converted some of these already but I am not sure which. They are in his Modules folder in the MoreEvents folder. he has done them in a modular fashion which is very good as it gives you/us examples to work with. His Cooked Food event does not look quite right to me in that it should obsolete with the cooked food tech not sedentary lifestyle.

So looking at the cave painting event

What the heck?
This disastrous event cannot go unpunished. Let's whip the offenders to teach them a lesson!
This is a deplorable event. From now we should be more careful if we don't want to have more surprises.​

1) do we need more than one set now that we have both cave and rock painting?
2) what were the outcomes and costs (I have forgotten) IIRC the standard sort of thing is either do nothing and loose building or pay to have it fixed.
3) some seem to suggest a heightened war response with other nations.

The event has no meaning if you have built the Laux... Paintings wonder.

Should there be a counter event that gives you the building if you don't have it? Eg "A young hunter of our has created a masterpiece while trying to depict his hunting adventures on them. This is source a of inspiration for all."
 
Ack, I need to look at what SO has done.

Quite a lot really but you need to look at each and see which can be converted as not all are suitable. Anything to do with other tribes needs to be looked at with regards the stuff I want to do with extended diplomacy to Indigenous People and barbarians.
