So ... many ... Simpsons ... quotes ... struggling ... to ... come ... out ...

We all know the 13 stripes are for luck, but why does the flag have 47 stars?

EDIT: 95%, I didn't know which form was required for naturalization...not a very fair question for a natural born citizen ;)

95% -- Had no idea 'What INS form is used to apply to become a naturalized citizen?'

90% for me.

well obviously the application form is used to apply. Just use logic :p

Nope. But personally, I think that if that's what it takes to become a citizen, then its too firmly rooted in the past, and much is irrelevant. Is it critically important to know what the first 13 states were? Or the name given to the introduction to the constitution?

Surely the relevant stuff is what it means and stands-for, not the specifics.

I find some of the answer choices disturbing. Scooter Libby? New Zealand? Reminds me of the episode of Growing Pains (yes, I can only relate to TV Shows, leave me alone) where Mike Seaver was doing a history test and the question was something like 'Which battle was the turning point in the Civil War?' and one of the answer choices was 'Battle of the Network Stars'

Well, yeah, but how do you create a fair subjective test? If the 'what it means and stands-for' was universal, we wouldn't really need the Supreme Court.

The questions such as the requirements to become president, how the supreme court judges are appointed, or what rights are guaranteed in the constitution are reasonable questions - relevant. The history is 'nice', but I don't really see why someone should be procluded from being a citizen because they don't know who said "give me liberty or give me death", or perhaps because they can't name the first 13 states.

You answered 75% of questions correctly. Here's your rating:

So Close. Guess I have to become an american citizen some other way. Amnestey anyone? Anyone?

edit: too many spoilers.

95%. Missed the voting rights amendment. In my defense, I'm probably familiar with the amendments, I just don't know which one is which.

95%...

I can't believe I missed the voting rights amendment question...

I knew that 19th was for women's suffrage. :wallbash:

"know more about this land than most Americans."

What a bunch of pretentious jerks.

You don't think that's true?

The majority of Americans don't even care enough to vote in elections, let alone learn about civics.

Er... Why did you feel the need to trumpet your intolerance of other people's beliefs again?

I only have intolerance for stupid beliefs. You can disagree with U.S. pubic policy without being an asinine, America-hating fanatic.
