Hey guys!
I've started the Civ series with Civ IV, and I'm playing my first time on the 3rd difficult setting (sorry, forgot which one is it. Warlord, maybe?). Well, I've been doing... fine. I'm managing to stay on top, but by a mere difference of 100 points ahead of Elizabeth and Washington. I'm playing Catherine.
Also, I'm really behind in Techs, and Washington is way ahead. I was preparing for a full scale assault on both Elizabeth and Washington, but then Alexander declares War on me, with his really old and useless army.
What should I do know? What am I doing wrong? Can you guys give me some tips?
Oh, and I'm using the Promotions mod, so I don't know if it will be compatible with those who don't have it. All the other mods I'm using don't interfere with gameplay (enhaced advisors, sevopedia, actualquotes, etc...), so I don't think they'll be a problem.
Also, what should I do so I don't fall so far behind in techs?

PS: the file says 1150 AD but it's actually 1950... too lazy to change filenames
PS2: Smirnoff was the first russian-like name that came to my mind.
