Council Vote to Amend CoS Section F

Code of Laws
A. Citizen Rights
3. Right to Free Speech
A. Citizens may post their comments in forum threads
wherever appropriate.
B. Citizens may post their comments in chats
wherever appropriate.
C. Citizens may create discussion threads on any topic.
D. Citizens may create polls on any topic.

The key terms in your quote are "wherever appropriate." And under this law it would make it inapporopriate to post "comments" of a bias nature in the first post of a poll. This is a loophole, and therefore you statement, about the law that was just passed is false.

Also, I agree with your point about multiple option polls. I will propose a new amendment tommorow. Got a hockey game to play now. I believe with the combonation of tommorows amendement, there will be nothing to stop this law that has already been approved by the council.

Goonie
You see, I would interpret the words "wherever appropriate" to mean no citizen threads in the government subforum, or no discussion in a council vote thread (like this one...).

My opinion, and as it turns out, my ruling on this issue is that this proposed restriction of speech is still contradictory to the rights guaranteed to all citizens by our constitution.

This discussion is moot and inappropriate in this thread. If you wish to continue debating your point, please use the relevant discussion thread or the official Judiciary thread.
