CrezNES - Another Return to Our Roots

EDIT: I'm not sure whether to side with Amon Savag or Crezth on this one, but so that information is equal I will share what my plan was. (BTW, I call this the Merchant Trick)

-Hire ordinary merchant ships (I assumed trade would continue informally between Koryo and Jasiran), who will act under the pretext of ordinary trade (they will be traders who habitually go there)
-Have the merchant ships continue normal trade for a day, while the army hides in the cargo hold
-At midnight, have the army launch a suprise attack on the city.

Sounds a bit alike my "Kalaran's Guerrillero" trick... And Charles, what are the "Guileriduros"? I should sue you for vileful slander and destruction of public name...

@Crezth: when is the next update due?

Story:
History of the Grand Alliance
Its first steps: the Nile Pact
Nowadays, many people are still amazed at the existence of the Grand Alliance, that Alliance that is currently working together to improve the life of every person all along our planet Gaia and is starting to build the first spaceship that will allow people, for the first time, to travel out of this cradle in which we have lived for so much time.

However, not many people know that the first step towards the existence of the Grand Alliance were done in a small town placed in the middle of the Saaran Plateau called Tresesquinas (Threecorners), so called because in the past the borders between the nations of Songhai, Tartessos and the Zulu Empire met in that point. A stele erected in the town still remembers people of that fact.

It was in Tresesquinas where representatives of the nations of Abalonia, Madagaskar, Songhai, Tartessos, the Union of European Peoples and the Zulu Empire met in order to draw a document that would hold several consequences in the future: the Nile Pact.

Although in the past there had been several alliances between two or three countries, this was the first time more than three countries met and declared their will to work together in something: the Nile Pact would become the core of the first intercontinental alliance ever (the Three Kings Alliance between Massachussets, Chicago and Florida doesn't count, because, although Florida had a small city in Northern Iberia, the core of their empire was essentially in America), holding the six countries together through the First Gaian War...

The document in which the original Nile Pact was written was thought to be lost for more than seven hundred years, until a young boy called Josue Lianna accidentally found a hidden cave in which many important documents were held, preserving them from being damaged by winds, sand or extreme humidity. Several of those documents, after being restored, are held in the Memphis Culture Museum, in the Kingdom of Tartessos. The most renowned of them is, of course, the one that holds the Nile Pact...

The text in the Nile Pact said:
Spoiler You can have a look, but only Crezth and the Nile Pact members can know of this IC :

Preface:

1. The Nile Pact has been created by the nations of Abalonia, Madagaskar, Songhai, Tartessos, Union of European People and the Zulu Empire.

2. If any nation wishes to enter the Pact, a consensus between ALL the nations in the Pact must be reached.
2.a) If a nation doesn't wish for the candidate to enter the Pact, a good explanation must be given.

3. All information regarding the Pact dealings will be kept secret from non-members.

4. Any member that breaks the rules (unless they have a good explanation) will be subjected to a 3-strike-policy:
First infraction: expulsion from the Pact for (1 turn).
Second infraction: expulsion from the Pact for (3 turns).
Third infraction: permanent expulsion from the Pact and a state of war between the expelled member and the remaining members of the Pact.
(OOC: of course, Crezth gets to know this in his position as Mod of the game)

Article I: Military Dealings

1. If a non-Pact nation declares war against a Pact nation, all Pact nations will immediately cut trade with said nation and provide military and economic help to the Pact member. Military access from the Pact-members to the attacked Pact-member territory will be given.

2. War against the non-Pact nation will last until it is defeated or it asks for a peace treaty.
2.a) If the victory is total (i.e: the enemy nation is wiped out) then the enemy territory will be given to the attacked nation and the remaining bordering Pact-members. The non-bordering Pact-members will be given economic compensation equal to that of the money given to the warring nation and the armies and navies lost in battle.
2.b) Should the enemy ask for a peace treaty, a voting between the members of the Pact shall be done. In case of a tie, the most affected nation will have the last word.
2.c) Should any Pact-member ask for a peace treaty independently of the Pact, it will be considered an infraction.
2.d) If the affected nation decides to ask for a peace treaty, then they must expose their position and thought of why they need it. Again, a voting will be held, with the affected nation having the last word.

3. If a Pact-member decides to attack any non-Pact-member, they might do so on their own or search help from the other Pact members. However, the latter don't have the obligation to help them.
3.a) Should aid be given, military access to the Pact-member that asks for help will be conceded to the Pact-member(s) that help.

4. Should a Civil War start in one of the Pact nations, the members of the Pact will only help the legitimate government (OOC: the one with the original player).

Signed,
King Nebuchadnezzar I of Abalonia
King Ramala III of Madagaskar
Kankan Musa II of Songhai
King Carles the Fourth of Tartessos
King John IX of the Union of European People
Emperor Obama XXIX of the Zulu Empire

No one would know of it in that moment, but the signing of the Nile Pact would be one of the triggers for the Gaian...

@Amon Savag: I figured you would be upset so allow me to explain.

Hitherto, Jasiranese trade ships were active in Wu and Koryoan ports. True, the governments of both of those nations may have shown animosity towards the Jasiranese, but the populace didn't give a rat's rear end. As such, trade ships flowed freely. Now, NWAG's admittedly clever trick involved harboring many ships over a long period of time, long enough to store a sizeable battalion and cause chaos. As it stood, the Jugguhnotaughts were only scarcely prepared in each situation, and though they succeeded in destroying the invaders there was significant collateral damage - city's worth. It was nonconventional warfare, something the Jasiranese are experts at.

I acknowledge however that Jasiran did not pay a requisite amount of deaths to substitute this destruction, a mistake I now intend to rectify. (-2 iron armies for Jasiran)

Emperor Obama signs Nile Pact
Together with the rulers of Songhai, Madagascar, Tartessos, Abalonia and the UEP, Emperor Obama has signed the Nile Pact. The pact was signed at a town where the borders of Songhai, Tartessos and our Empire meet.

Peace and prosperity
Due to the centuries of peace the Empire has entered a very prosperous age, called a 'Golden Age' by Emperor Obama. Trade and commerce are booming, the population has grown immensely and many technological breakthroughs have been made recently.

Gold, gold, gold...

A new age for the Empire
In a joined effort with Songhai and Madagascaran scientists we all have moved on to the next scientifical age, the Classical Age. Progress has been made in the many fields of science like mathematics, physics and metallurgy.

Conquests of the Amazonian Empire of Beatledom

After defeating, nay, utterly crushing the Chavin in the mountains to the west, Amazonia had successfully gained control of the entire continent. With that, a glorious age fell upon the Empire, one of high economic, cultural, and technological levels. With the large influx of income from the core domestic economy, the Empire was now able to dedicate more funds toward building and maintaining a larger and better trained military. The increase in military spending opened a new door, one of conquest of the north. With the Floridian Empire crumbling to pieces, only smaller, weaker duchies bordered the Empire, and these appeared to be perfect targets.

The conquest started with the capture of the southern islands of Ricin. Ricin had a small, technologically advanced navy, but Amazonian fleets managed to overwhelm them with pure numbers. The Ricin were pushed back to their home island to await an Amazonian invasion, which would most certainly be larger and better trained than the first.

Whilst islands were being captured in the north, a force of soldiers moved up though the istmus, and towards the duchy of Yucatin. The Yucatin, much like their islander brothers, had a weak military...and on top of that, were isolated from the stronger mainland duchies. Amazonian armies were unable to access their border, but will soon be within range...and cannot be stopped.

Another tempting target was Haitin, the island duchy west of Ricin. Taking the large island would allow Amazonian fleets several bases in which to orchestrate and supply strikes at possible targets on the mainland and-or Aurin. Haitin looked like the next to fall after Ricin and Yucatin.

A major goal for Amazonia in these conquests was to access the markets of North America, and potentially Europe and Africa, while all the while expanding their domestic economy. The Amazonian juggernaut (not to be confused with the soldiers of Koryo) was poised to become the power of a second continent...and it didnt look like it could be stopped.

Sorry for misspelling. They are Unionites, not Tartessos. And I can't account for their Norweagen, Celtic, Channelite, Frank, Teuton, Russian, Slav, Pole and Finnish accents!

We know of those revolts in your territory, our old ally. However, none of them have been caused by us directly. It's possible that, indirectly, we might have caused it, but it's mostly a consequence of the proverbial lack of culture you and your people display, especially when compared to ours.

As for your acceptance in the European Alliance... We would be perfectly willing to accept you into it, but I fear that I would find myself in a conundrum if you decided to fight against Abalonia, for we have already signed a Military Protection Pact that would force me to fight against you, yet with you being my ally I would have to fight on your side. Please, do not try to fight either Abalonia or any of the African nations, as they are under said Pact.

OOC: Orders and story coming.

EDIT: OOC2: Who got the Teutonia Beer Wonder? The UEP or Tartessos?

EDIT 2: OOC3: Does the effect of the Parthenon also affect through the sea, or it's only through land?

We have no intention of fighting the Abalonians, it is only if they attack us that we will defend. Do you accept now?

To Madagaskar

We had intended for you to begin trade with us now that Asia was calm again, but now we have these liars to the south disrupting the peace. We will still welcome goods from your land if you choose to send them anyway.

We will see if it is possible to open up safe trade routes!
Goods and rescources are always welcome in our trade-centres!

To: Tartessos
From: The Zulu Empire
CC: adjacent nations

Our merchants have noticed the construction of the Parthenon and we are very worried about it. We know it's powers and consider any culture flipping of our territory and territory of members of the African Alliance as an act of war. Please reconsider it's construction or guarantee no territory of the African Alliance will be taken by Tartessos when the Parthenon will be completed.

From: Kingdom of Tartessos
To: Zulu Empire

We can't promise that the effects of the Parthenon will not hit you, nor stop its construction. However, we are willing to give you those lands back for an adequate price.

Unacceptable. We're not going to buy our own land back from you. Any land-grabbing on your part as a result of the effects of the Parthenon shall be considered as an act of war.

To: Songhai, UEP and Abalonia
From: The Zulu Empire

It's very likely that you're going to be affected by the Parthenon. We urge you to heed our warning.

Order sented

We would rather you either never control the first land place (i.e. say in your orders not to gain any land in Africa visa the Parthenon) or give the land back the moment you gain them.
