Crises of the New World Order

Single Currency Introduced

The Euro is now the official currency of all EU member states. Already the introduction is having a significant impact on the economy, with new money availiable in the budget and technology advancing more rapidly due to the boost, the future looks rosy for the EU.

Task Force attacks Monrovian rebels

A helicopter carrier and escort have destred all traces of rebel forces in Monrovia. Ground forces are expected to land and free the city very soon.

Trade, Trade, Trade

Many new freights were comissioned recently, all but one with international destinations. One is on it's way to Moscow, one to Warsaw and several are being shipped to US cities. We request Russian and United States permision to travel through thier teritory in order to conduct trade operations in their cities.

Nuclear Disarmament Official

The EU has officialy disarmed it's nuclear arsenal and has vowed never to build any more weapons of mass destruction. The EU once more pleads with other nations not to be so stupid enough to build nuclear weapons. To do so is self-destructive. The EU is willing to send advisors to other nations to help them dispose of their nuclear missiles.

*Note: Whilst it may sem a pointless exercise disarming, you actually need Nuclear Disarmament in order to get many of the higher technologies.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pavlov, I will be able to take Monrovia next turn unless the neutrals capture it. I also have around 5-6 frieght units heading your way, any preference over cities to go to?

Does anyone want Nuclear Disarmament, I am willing to swap for a worthy tech or a small amount of cash, say $200 million?

I'll get back to on you on that one. Have to check my cities. Go ahead and take Monrovia, just needed to know so I can use my carriers effectively.

So far I've heard no opinions on my draft for a UN resolution, I'm waiting. ;)

UN resolution #1:
China belive that attacking Afghanistan would be unnessasary use of force. The Taliban-regime in Afghanistan has not threatened anybody. Until they do, China votes no to a UN-supported attack.

Fair enough.

mordhiem, these cities are my first preference: NY, Washington, Boston, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Detroit. These are in order of preference. ;)

The USA finds the European proposal interesting, we wish to purchase Nuclear disarmament for 200 million dollars.

The Russian president will reply in the affirmative on the issue of trade with the EU, for we believe that this will be beneficial to both parties.

However, the Russian member of the Security Council has been ordered to veto the proposed vote to eradicate the taliban, whom are not a nuisance to anyone. We agree with the Chinese on this issue.

The EU supports a UN resolution for deposing the Taliban from Afghanistan, however we would not be a ble to provide any significant forces to the area for a reasonable amount of time as our main forces are either recovering from the recent campaign against the 'allies', currently engaged in Monrovia or en route to other terrorist locations. We understand of course if the nations of India, China and Russia do not wish to commit, since it would be their forces at the most risk.

If the USA and Russia would like to pay the sum of $200 million when they next have their turn, then we will be able to send advisors to help you disarm.

Legalen, your play.

Since at least one member of the security council vetoed, the resolution is dead. American intelligence services will keep an eye on the talibans though.

I'll have that money on your desk by tomorrow, mordhiem.;)

The Russian Federation will not release any information this month on its activities, consisting as they did of mere internal orders to help the economy. :)

translation:nothing happened.:)

Dhaka captured!

Massive Indian air casualties over Yangon lead to the retreat of the Indian Carrier in the area.

India begins lagre scale military modernization to keep up with the west on terms of influence.

Tourism is introduced in many cities of India, bringing tourists and their money to India. :D

Chingla strongly condemn the act of espionage made by the Russians. China demands that other nations condemns it as well. This has cooled the good relationship wich China enjoyed with Russia. The Russian ambassador in Beijing is under heavy pressure. The fact that you admit it Boris, makes this matter even worse.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We have undisputable proof that China has stationed troops on Taiwan. We are dedicated to defending the independence of this island, as we have many times assured China. Taiwan is an independent, democratic nation and will remain that way!

We demand that the army units on Taiwan are withdrawn as soon as possible or we will take action to remove them.

Thank you.

And now, the news:

*Major anti-pollution campaign in western American.
*Continued investments in the American economy.
*Admiral Carter on the USS America would like to invite his European colleagues to an exercise in the Mediterranean sea.

mordhiem, the lowest amount of money I could gift you was $1100. Do you have yaroslav's PBEM-utility?

"U.S. imperialism, Soviet revisionism and the reactionaries in the world are all paper tigers. Armed with Mao Tsetung Thought, the Chinese people and the Chinese People's Liberation Army are invincible. We are determined to liberate Taiwan! We are determined to defend the sacred territory and sovereignty of our great motherland!"
Ninth National Congress of the Communist Party of China
April 24, 1969

look familiar?

For those of you who prefer a visual representation of what the Chinese wish to do:

We will retreat our forces from Taiwan. We had no intentions on attacking the island, only to protect our land from assaults across the ocean. Since this has been rejected by the UN, China will therefor act as requested. Taiwan will remain independant.

But what does this have to do with you spying on me? This is not acceptable! You can not send a spyplane into my country and then try to get around the fact that you actually did it. This Taiwan-matter was not put on the table until after you sent in your spyplane.

We will not do anything with our good neighbours in the north, but we expect to be conpensated somehow. You have violated our sovereignty.

President Pavlov is relieved that chairman Eivind has chosen the path of peace. On the request of the Taiwanese government the US navy will continue surveillance of Taiwan.

The president commented on the AWACS-incident this way: "It is as of yet unclear why the plane was in Chinese territory. Since we have received no explanation from Russia we can't assume anything. I hope that China and Russia will solve this matter through diplomatic channels."

EU Forces Engaged in Montenegro

Rebel insurgents around the city of Montenegro have been destroyed by air & sea attacks from the 4th Fleet including aircraft carrier HMS Invincible. Two German tank regiments will land within the month to wrest control from the rebels on the ground.

Increased Trade Between Warsaw, Athens, Munich and Bordeaux

Iron Ore from Athens is now being transported on a regular basis to steel works around Warsaw. It is hoped that this deal will improve both Greek and Polish economies. Also, Electronics goods from Bordeaux arrived in Munich, boosting tech stocks in the Frankfurt and London stock exchanges.

President Refuses to Comment on AWAC Controvesy

President Mordhiem avoided any questions surrounding US-China relations in his most recent press conference in Napoli, prefering to concentrate on domestic matters. However, one reporter did manage to elict a significant, if cryptic, statement from him before he could retire to his hotel room. "Only countries that have something to hide are anxious of intruders."

This is what a Russian diplomatic envoy told us:

I was sending my AWACS across Siberia in the direction of Moscow and merely wished to ensure that there wasn't an impending attack on the Russian Federation. I have been assured that there isn't and will continue moving the AWACS towards Moskva.

They admit that they suspect us for an attack, and therefor sent in a spy-plane. This is what the cold war was all about, and we do not wish this kind of relationship with our northern neighbour. And sending in a spy-plane into another nations air room is a violation of the nations soverignty.

And to the European Union,
It is really infair to say that we have something to hide, when you do not know anything about this. That kind of statements is the same as taking one side. We have nothing to hide, but if China sent in a spy-plane into Europe, I bet that you would react in the same way we did.
