Ok now I'm sure I'm in too many PBEM's sorry guys. :D

But you see your game is so exciting I wanted to participate with the Italians. It’s very impolite from you in rejecting my ambitions. :)

Sorry, I'm still here. GCSE coursework has restirced my posting on these forums to once every 3-4 days now :(. I'm just about to play all my overdue games.

Since James was here first, he can go ahead with the turn.

@academia: Yep, and you won't let us borrow the internet! ;)

Glad to see you're still with us mordhiem.

After President Boris Leglaen disappeared earlier this month on what can only be presumed to be a vodka-induced journey of self-discovery, the Duma overwhelmingly voted to give Prime Minister Vladimir Kurkov presidential powers.

Kurkov addressed the nation saying he was sad that he had to rise to the presidency in this fashion, but that Russian citizens and members of the world community had nothing to fear and everything to hope for as a result of his succession.

Kurkov promised to put bold initiatives into effect that would help the lives of the Russian citizenry and maintain global stability. First, he promised to root out the corruption and patronage that ran so rampant under his predecessor that budget stability couldn't be achieved despite the fact that over 90% of all cities were producing Consumer Goods. To do this he requested aid from the western powers in the form of technical advisors that would teach the ways of Liberal Democracy. To do this Kurkov said Russia would be willing to pay $200m dollars.

In foreign affairs, Kurkov promised to wrap up the war against the so-called Unalligned nations that operate rogue airbases in Russian territory, and pledged support to the global war on terror, going so far to withdraw the threat of a Russian veto if the UN Security Council wishes to consider moving against the Taliban regime.

The Chinese government welcomes the new President, Vladimir Kurkov of the Russians with open arms. We hope that this new president will show a more cooperative path than Mr. Yeltsin. We also hope that we can lay the past behind and open the door for a new relationship between these great neighbours. You seem like a very smart and steady leder for the people of the Russia. If you continue with this attitude I see a very prosperous future for both Russia and China, and the world community.

President Morhiem of the EU hopes that the good relationship held with Mr. Legalen will continue under the Mr. Kurkov's new administration. President Mordhiem stresses that the EU was the closest ally of the former Russian President and sees no reason for this to change. As a gesture of goodwill, President Morhiem will dispatch some of the top political academics in Europe to aid Russia set up a more efficient system of government at a cut price of $100m.

In case you didn't know, I was caught cheating at Apolyton. http://apolyton.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=1464165#post1464165

I was caught immediately and I have never cheated anywhere else. Now I'm asking you if you're okay with me continuing as USA here? I understand if you don't.

In character: President Pavlov greets the new administration with opened arms. We hope that the anti-pollution aid we sent you will come to good use.

I would like to remain neutral, since I am an ex-cheater myself...but if the Duke checked your files it would be ok with me...

If Duke checks the files and they come up clean I have no objection.

Just so you all know, Duke of Marlbrough is too busy right now to do even requested checks, let alone routine ones.

Russia staged air strikes and used special forces to elminate several Unalligned bases operating uncomfortably close to the Russian frontier. The Communist stronghold in Ukraine is expected to fall shortly, and the Unalligned threat to Russia will be no more.

Russia appreciates Europe's generosity, although she wasn't able to make a payment of $100m this month (due to the minimum gift being 750), she hopes Europe will send the tech over and something can be worked out. Kurkov also reassured Europe that their friendly relationship will continue, even offering to formerly ally Russia with Europe to guarantee stability in the area and benefit trade relations between them.

Kurkov also pledged good relations with China, India and the United States. Kurkov said of the current American presidential scandal, "It is no problem to us so long as the issue does not resurface, and a method of ensuring this is carried out," and complimented President Pavlov on his honesty. Kurkov also looked for ways to improve Sino-Russian relations, but also told China to be sure and care for the needs of those Russians in her newly acquired territories.
