Hi Quintilis, how do i get landmark terrain to work in my game/mod?

I set up the following, but still do not see any forests that provide 2 food on my random maps:

Thanks!

I feel like I knew this, but somehow I thought this editor would allow it for random maps as well. Thanks so much for clarifying, Civinator!

somehow I thought this editor would allow it

The speciality of this editor concerning LM terrain is, that this editor allows the use of LM terrain on fixed maps even for terrain, where in the normal editor the option of LM terrain is 'grayed out' (p.e. tundra terrain).

(emphasis added)

An alternative way to accomplish that would be to create an additional food resource that only appears on forests. You can set the frequency low, so that would mimic landmark terrain. And if you don't want players to know it's there right away just leave that resource's box in the pcx blank.

If you want to get into more details start a thread - that way we don't get further OT.

Has anyone encountered the problem of having the game's Scenario property disappear in the Firaxis editor but still remains in the Quintillus one?

Suddenly a scenario I've run successfully before could no longer read added buildings. So I suspect it was no longer reading from the right pedialcon. But upon checking the property on the Quintillus editor everything was fine. After some trial and error I opened the Firaxis editor and checked. And sure enough, the property part is blank for some mysterious reason. I certainly didn't touch it. I suspect me downloading Flintlock's patches may have something to do with it as I ran the scenario ok before that.

After typing in the correct scenario pathing I saved on the Firaxis editor. I ran the game ok. But then when I tried opening the scenario with the Quintillus editor it could no longer open it. I got an "out of memory" or "out of RAM" message.

So I had no option but to leave the scenario property blank and add all the extra stuff to the stock game pedialcon.

I don't remember where it is in the thread: there is some mention of problems caused by moving between the two editors. There's an order that causes problems that when using them in the opposite sequence doesn't.

So I suspect you've got two things causing problems. (1) A conflict between the patches and what is happening in editors. (2) Making changes in the Q-Editor that the Firaxis editor can't understand.

Today I can't even open that scenario with an empty scenario property anymore (something I managed to do yesterday). It now refuses to read a certain building despite me adding everything to the stock game pedialcon and art. So I deleted that building and tried again. When the loading process hits 100% the game crashes. I guess it has gone haywire and I need to create a new scenario.

Still, even with pedialcon intact there is lot of manual work lost. Is there a way to copy paste the content into a new scenario?

Edit: I tried using the Firaxis editor to reset the scenario property and saved it there. And then I was able to open it. But then the Quintillus editor refuses to open that save giving me the "out of memory" message. And the game crashes upon playing as well so there's that.

Quintillus, it seems the problem reported in the post above is bigger and the source of that problem cannot be detected by using your editor. Please have a look at this thread: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/cant-play-scenario.670045/

There are crazy terrain values and additional terrains be shown while loosing civilopedia link entries, when using Firaxis editor 1.00 and the biq, as reported above, freezes when reaching the 100 % mark of loading. In that thread Predator145 attached a 'dummy biq' which can be used to show these problems when using the Firaxis 1.00 editor. The problems cannot be seen when using your editor, but the biq stops loading when be used for a game.

Hi Quintilis/Community,
Has anyone run into an issue with worker units not having the "road to" ability (and other advanced unit action buttons)? "Build Road" works, but not "Road to". Most of the worker units in my mod have this "Road to" ability, but some new ones i've created do not. I wonder if i've hit some sort of editor maximum? The only other thing i have done that may have caused this is move units around in the editor (click and dragging the unit name to move them to a higher or lower unit slot). But i don't think that would affect anything, because i've tried making new worker units in different unit "slots" in the editor without resolving the issue. Anyone have any ideas?
(by the way, advanced unit action buttons setting was ON for both game screenshots below).

Here's and example of 2 worker units with pretty much identical editor flag settings. The Stiff DOES have the 'road to' unit action button, the Cottier DOES NOT. =(

Hi
First of all, I write in Google translation, so sorry if it's not clear ...

Thanks a lot for the Editor, he is very helpful. But, some important points for improvement
1- It happens a lot that it crashes .. sometimes already in an attempt to open a file.
2- I think it's really important to have a minimap, it's a tool that helps navigate the map.
3- I did not find that the Editor knows how to produce a random map, is it like that or I just do not find?
4- I really liked the idea of downloading units from the site! But it does not work for me unfortunately ... I would be happy to help, and I would also be very happy for it to develop into the possibility of downloading hosts and factions
5-Another thing that I think is very important to have in the editor, is the ability to mark and copy tiles. With all that is on them, or only part of what is on them

Hi!

1) it will help you get an answer if you can give more details about the crashes. What operating system are you using? What version of the editor? What files are you trying to open when it crashes? Anything else you can post in more detail will help. It may be something that we already know the answer to - and how to make the current version of the editor work for you. It will also help Quintillus know what needs to be changed.

3) Have you tried opening a biq that generates random maps, saving it with a different name, and then changing what you want in the editor?

3) Of course I tried, and it also works fine ... but I think I think the editor will be able to create maps himself ...
1) I am using Windows 10, with the latest editor version and the Java version recommended in the post.
It just happens from time to time that the editor is completely stuck, and it happens mostly when I upload a file. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't work, I try again and again until it works

@arikari Try the Adventures in EXE Modding thread, about here, for a discussion on telepads.

Wait, no, I found the original thread by browsing there: A Study on Teleportation.

You won't see a random biq map in the editor - that gets created when the game runs. Maybe you mean you want the editor to generate a map to start that you can then edit?

If the editor gets stuck when you upload a file, maybe it is something wrong in the file. If it seems to happen a lot with a specific file try uploading the file here for people to take a look at.

Sorry, I use Google Translate so maybe what I want is not clear ...
It seems to me that the editor can get stuck with any file ... I try again until it works
