Crusader Kings 2

My horrendously shaped Kingdom of Serbia-Hungary-Byzantium after my newly crowned 16 year old king united the crowns of Serbia-Byzantium and Hungary through inheritance.

Athens was my capital, but then after I became King of Serbia I decided that was a bit silly, so moved it up there. My family is still Greek though. :p

Yeah, but as a human I have much better capital placing skills than the AI :p

One thing I'm curious about. After a vassal rebels and I defeat them in a civil war, I can imprison them, and then strip them of one title without penalty. This can be a bit annoying when they hold multiple titles, naturally, since they really deserve to lose every title they own after committing treason. Is there any way to do that without suffering the relations hit with my other vassals?

Nope, but if you release them after stripping them of one title they will rebel again in no time, just shove your spymaster on his home province to uncover plots and you can either get another title via war or just by straight up imprisoning him.
Honestly though, unless your other vassals don't like you too much I will just deal with a 'Tyrant' penalty for taking an extra county if I really want it, it only lasts for 5 years anyway.

And if you let your Chancellor fabricate a claim on a county within your own real, you can revoke their titles without taking a tyrant hit.

And the AI is rather idiotic with it's capitols, problem being they tend to give away their home counties when they annex new territory and reach their demesne limit, seen France having their capitol in the middle of Spain and Portugal (that through some rather sudden and undoubtedly assassin fueled situation get control over the entirety of Iberia) having their capitol in Mauritania, even in my Holland game the HRE capitol was somewhere in Lithuania.

I like to "farm" disloyal vassals.

Goad them into rebellion, defeat and imprison them (tossing them in the dungeon is not necessary in order to strip them of a title, but it's useful for making them hate me even more, so as to guarantee another rebellion when the truce wears off), take ONE title from them, and then ransom them. If they can't afford the ransom, I just let them go anyway.

As soon as the truce expires, they'll betray me again... and I do the same thing to them again. This guarantees me a steady flow of income (from ransoms) and titles.

The only dawback is that they might occasionally get lucky with an assassination attempt... but that's pretty rare in my experience.

If I'm not expanding my borders, I might try this. Nothing is worse than a disloyal vassal revolting while you are fighting England!

I'll try that.
What I generally do is assassinate annoying vassals to try to get a child ruler on their throne. Children make easier vassals to control.
I have found that diplo ending plots is better than imprisoning plotters; I would rather fight neighbors than having the distraction of rebellion.

I desperately need an "Ask all your vassals to stop plotting" button. It's a ridiculous number of button clicks to ask them to stop 5 or so different plots simultaneously.

Also, I managed to install my half-brother on the throne of a rump-kingdom of England, when he started demanding other English lands and threatening war, I assassinated him and his child and took over England myself. Great Britain has formed in 1308, only about 4 centuries early. :)

1200, about half of England is mine, as is half of Ireland, Wales, Acre, and Jerusalem. And Asturia in Spain, somehow.

Starting a new game, any good suggestions? I played with Ireland(Munster) and Bosnia.

I can attest both Scotland and Leon are fun to play, I was thinking about giving the Hungarians a try or maybe the duchy in southern Italy and forming the Kingdom of Sicily.

Apulia is difficult because it starts with gavelkind and many eligible heirs, so watch out for that. One game I'd like to play but not started yet is Duchy of Portucale, with the goal of forming Portugal and removing the Muslims from Europe.

I started a Duchy of Cyprus game, I took Malta and Tripoli (Lebanon), my goal is to gain independence from Byzantium and conquer every island.

First thing you need to do is either prop up the Duchy of Barcelona or take the Moorish provinces near it, otherwise the French will eventually overrun Iberia.

If the king is young, you will probably be able to sit on the throne for 10 years and pick a different succession law.
