Cry Havoc! Assasins in our midst!

Unless Lord Padma or Prince Dis himself feels like taking charge of the investigation, I will use my authority as a military advisor to Lancre to begin a more thorough sweep of the area. So far the only clue is the crossbow bolt. I will continue to examin it to see if it offers any other leads. I will add 100g to the reward of anybody who can track down and bring the culprit to justice, whether dead or alive.

As an Earl of Vanir, and commander of Kukhaff I will take it upon myself to conduct a sweep of Western Vanir for this assasin. I also express my deep sympathies to disorganizer and the enitre house of Lancre.

As the highest ranking noble in Lancre, after Lord Disorganizer, I do hereby authorize Sir Grandmaster to take charge of this investigation. He has our authority to search our lands, and question any he finds there. This authority shall last for a year and a day, unless the culprit is apprehended, or Lord Disorganizer or I rescinds it before that time.

I would like to help in the investigation. I will hunt these people down until justice is served.

here is a picture of the crosbow bolt used:

The assassin must have been using a very light crossbow. The head of this bolt is larger than the width of the shaft. It would not sit in the groove of a normal crank and windlass crossbow. Towards the end of my Japanese campaign we rousted a group of local criminals called the yakuza. They were thugs and killers and did a large trade in assassinations. Their prefered weapon was a crossbow that could be held in one hand. The bolts used were half again longer than the throw of the crossbow and had enlarged heads like this one. These small crossbows were very powerful as they used sprung iron for the throws. They suffer for accuracy over a long distance and are generally used within a few dozen feet. They are also hinged to collapse so they can be hidden extremely quickly.

Prince disorganizer, I fear that you should look to the guardsmen that accompanied you that day. If the weapon used is what I think it is, it was fired from within your group.

Maybe this relates to the UN ambassadorship that Dis Held. If the gaurd was trained in Spiritualism, maybe he was just a transplant from the Community. Or some other plane.

Shaitan, I am afraid that I too ran into this "yakuza" group that you speak of. On a business trip to Japan, to learn the art of folding iron, I encoutered a murder being committed by this band of criminals. It turns out that the murdered man was a French ambassador to the country. Perhaps it too was an assassination attempt? Anyway, my sources tell me that the Yakuza have a close relationship with the Al-Azteca terror organization I told you of before, and that they have been known to carry out hits for Al-Azteca. Perhaps they're getting to get revenge for the Japanese War? As for the guards, I can vouch for their innocence. They are trusted men who I have served with for years. Also, I noticed no suspicious movements which might indicate the use of a concealed weapon. Perhaps the assassin was hidden among trees or bushes near the side of the road?

during the last hours, me, disorganizer the enlightened, was wandering through the lands of TSort... on those mountains, suddenly the perception struck me that my life had something to do with the events striking me lately.

i noticed that the true contentment it not to be derived from fame, fourtune or heroism!

now to praise our deities, i will now start to go on a pilgrimage trough our lands. i will praise the deities for this enlightment. and will spread the wisdom through our land, to make these lands the true lands of the populace.

for this reason, i will strip myself of all burdens of this normal life. all fortune and fame, all ownings and posessions.... i shall be wandering in the beggars clothes through our streets from now on, always on the search for sapiency.

and as such, the following shall be done in the name of the prince of lancre:

a) as a thank you to the 2 fellows bringing me back to my castle, sir shabbaman and sir grandmaster will be awarded the "LANCRE STAR" for their brave action. this local honour will come with a regular payment of 10g/TC each from my private income.

b) gunning1 will receive the pub. and all associated things

c) all of my mobile troops, which swore the loyalty to lancre instead of my person, will be under the controll of the military commander of lancre

d) padma will be proclaimed the new leader of the principality of lancre. i will give my prince-title to him.

e) my land is equally divided by value between plexus and padma. they can talk to each other to decide who gets which tile. this also includes the city tiles and the TSort tile. all garrison troops will be kept at the tiles when they change ownership, as they also are sworn in to the principality instead of my person.

f) a fund will be generated out of my money and my shares. The "Lancre fund for the fanatikan populace".

g) gunning1 will be nominated as the curator of the fund. he has the full decission power on which projects to sponsor in the name of the fund. the fund will give money for national projects for the pupulace, as monuments, memorials etc. he has also allowance to invest the money to gain more revenue in the long term. a minimum of 5000g must in any case be held back as reserve.

h) the curator can be deposed at any time by a single citizen majority vote. if no curator is in duty, one can be elected after the normal election rules.

i) First action of this fund will be to extend Lancre castle into a "temple of the fanatikan populace". The temple will serve as gathering place for the people. And they can always use this building as shelter. I will reserve the right to live inside the top chamber of the big tower in the castle.
The price for this extension must not exeed 2000 gold. No luxury shall be in that temple. It is plainly for service, not for fame!

j) To further increase the above fund, after the tournament all my remaining possesions are to be auctioned off. This includes all houses and ownings i have, but not the shares and TSort castle.
TSort castle and my shares will remain in ownership of the above mentioned Fund.
I will only keep sandals and a toga back in my possesions.

k) all my income except 50g/TC will be given to the fund. if at the end of a term any money is left on my account, this money will also be given to the fund.

i will of course be available for clarification of the above decissions, as i only can hope all were wise and clear enough.

In duty to serve the populace,

DISORGANIZER
the enlightened

I bid ye well on your journey, my liege, and thank you for your generous gift. I assure you that the military of Lancre will remain, as always, the envy of the Great Houses under the leadership of Lords Padma and Plexus, Generals Falcon and Shabbaman, and myself.

However, I must say that I am deeply saddened and rather surprised by your leaving.

I continue the serve the Principalty of Lancre, and will do so with gladness until you return.

I hoped so, my dearest friend. Out of rivaling houses, we developed a cooperative friendship lasting for centuries, if not millenia.
As said, i will occasionally visit this place. Get a drink, visit people... and i hope if some beggar-monch knocks on your door, you will recognize me and let me in.

DISORGANIZER

Written by Brother Joseph...

I speak to you Disorganiser, as one who has spent most of his life as a wandering beggar.

For the longest of times, I felt that life had nothing to offer. The only thing that drove me was the desire to find and punish the people who killed my family.
I too wandered the lands as a beggar, reviled and made outcaste where'er I went. Until I reached the lands of Fanatika, it was a life of unimaginable hardship.
But in this generous land, I wanted for nothing. At every land, I was given succour. The food was plain, but filling. My body rested in barns and sometimes even on a bed. For me, that was the height of luxury!
When I met my true calling, as a follower of the Spirits, I truly felt fullfilled. But harken unto this: Even though I have the most comfortable of beds, and the riches of foods offered, I still sleep on the floor and eat the humblest foods.
My life as a beggar taught me that truly the measure of a man is not the titles and the properties he holds, it is what lies within.

If ever you need to speak with a kindred spirit, of matters of great import, or even just to say hello, I am always available.

BTW in your travels, if e'er you spy my beloved Brother Adam or Sister Eve, pray tell them to contact me.

We are sorry to lose such a dedicated and capable noble but we respect your decision and wish you the best of luck, disorganizer.

Unfortunately, you can't give away or sell your troops. They are raised to your banner and serve you directly. They agreed to serve you and will abandon your forces if you try to pass them off to another lord.

Ah. I expected that... thos unworthy wimps.... running away from their duty when they are left alone...
So the following order shall pass:
a) all troops of me stay on my tiles over which plexus and padma did not yet decide. as soon as no more tiles are left, the troops disband. plexus and padma can immediately raise new troops out of those lands.

Brother McNulty: I will search for them on my travels... and will bring them back to you.

SaaM: partially. due to lack of time. but i wont be able to resist this addictive game so i will sometimes come back for short visits.

Well.... There goes my chances of getting my mountain back :(...
