I started a GEM scenario and everything went smoothly until around 1200 BC. Then every other a couple turns I began to experience CTD with the following message:

"FATAL_ERROR: Memory allocation failure - exiting program. Reason: bad allocation"

I am running the game on an Asus G75 VX with 16 GB RAM, and a 3 GB nvidia GTX 680MX graphics card. Operating system is 64-bit Windows 8.

Could anyone shed a light on the problem??

Thanks a lot in advance...

That more than likely means your playing WITH Rev On, and have too many civs (IMO).
Try this:
1. Save your game when its your turn.
2. Exit to Desktop.
3. Turn off your PC completely for 1 minute.
4. Start it back up, but make sure you have a "shortcut" to your savedgame area (included with mod).
Click your you shortcut and it take you to your saved game area, select your game.
5. Should run normal again, if not, use the Bug/CTD thread and do what post # 1 asks for.

Thanks for the feedback Strategyonly. Yes the Revolutions mod was ON. As for the number of CIVs, I chose only the CIV I wanted to play but cannot recollect adding additional CIVs (although it is a habit of mine to make the map crowded :-)).

I will give it a go with your solution...

Cheers,

Um - no way you can run GEM beyond about Medieval without viewports. You'll almost certainly need to turn viewports on if you haven't already.
