Culverin

I just came across a thread by Yxklyx regarding a button for this unit. I found one in a button bundle mod that works quite well so I figure I'd upload it here so other people can use it. I've been using this unit in my game and it works seamlessly. It provides a nice bridge between Catapults/Trebuchets and Cannons.

The other nice thing about this unit is that you shouldn't see the AI with Rifles, Cavalry and *Catapults* anymore - the AI doesn't seem to prioritize Steel much.
 
Any chance you could get this unit working for Colonization. I have tired but no can do. This is a really sweet unit need for mods around its time period.

Pirates are a main factor here, and I have had some trouble thinking about how exactly to use them. I am thinking of making a few pirate civs, but I would need some Asian pirate units. Anyway I will try your mod for a bit, and maybe some ideas will come to me. Besides I have not played Colonization for awhile, and I enjoyed it lasttime.

Yeah, cool man. My pirates Mod has a lot to it actually, its a whole new game for Colonization. There is still lots I want to do as well, like add in a Asian Pirate Confederation and the Barbary Piratesl.

Anyway, I finally managed to merge some cannon models and made a few early cannon types. Going to post them so anyone else can use them.

Edit: Id still like to get this Culverin unit working with Colonization too.

Yes, I use it in my mod it is very well done. I hope you can do that, there must be someone on here that can help you with that.
 
here is a colonization working version (used together with the cannon.kfs from the civ4 culverin and for safety the cannon.kfm from colonization) - looked like the wheels cause the trouble

Sweet, Coyote! Working just fine. The cannon was on a lower level then the Cannoneer but I fixed that already. I am going to merge in one of my other cannoneer models or reskin the "musketman" as he is rather plain and tinker with it a bit now. I'll add it to that Renascence cannon pack I uploaded, if thats all cool :goodjob:
