Cumulative Lord of the Rings Quiz :D

Name the 3 most prominent Noldor and 3 most prominent Sindar remaining in middle earth during the war of the ring.
Edit left out sindar.

One third of an answer to the second part: Galadriel.

other 2/3's to the second part: Elrond(is that right?), and Cirdan. i can remember hardly anything.

who are the most superior(2) (and equal) Istari, and what are their colors? (easy) What is the name of the Brown Istari?

were the other two involved in the war of the rings? where were they?(these are things im curious about, theyre not real questions)

Elrond & Galadriel are two of the most prominent Noldor in middle Earth during the War of the Ring, Cirdan is one of the most prominent Sindar (Not a Nolda).

And for the interpolated question
The white messenger; Curumo; Curanir; Sauruman, a maiar of Aule
& The grey messenger: Olorin; Mithradir; Gandalf; Tharkun; Incanus, a maiar of Manwe & Varda,
were the strongest two

The brown messenger: Aiwendil; Radagast was a maiar of Yavanna

The two blue messengers Alatar and Pallando were maiar of Orome.

Now name the 1 remaining Nolda from the above question, and the two remaining Sindar

The original question has changed. For the remaining part I am going to guess Glorfindel(Noldor), Celeborn (Sindarin), Thranduil (Sindarin).

Man are you guys still getting this stuff from the Appendices and the Silmarrion??? (yah, I KNOW its not spelt right, no need to feel the urge to point my error out...)

If not then I should read LOTR AGAIN..... damn... Was only about 6 months ago too...

Yes, I think the next question is yours.

[Glaurung: the C in Celeborn is pronounced silimar to the hard CH of German; and from memory, I can only name the Ring of Fire.]

[And I could've sworn that Elrond Half-Elven blood lines were more Sindarin than Noldor, being descended from the House of Thingol.]

Morgasshk is correct.
Next question.

Elrond was indeed much mixed blood (with the human elemts somehow purged by the Valar when the choice was put to him.
Thingol (Sindar)was his great great grand father, Turgon (Noldor) was his great grandfather. Staring from those generations as best I can figure Elrond (before being made all elven) was 6/16 (not quite half) human, 4/16 Noldor, 5/16 Sindar (based largely on the ASSUMPTION that Dior's wife was Sindar), & 1/16 Maiar (from Melian, Thingols wife). Going back further is is even more mixed, with some Vanyar & Falmari blood IIRC.
He was consider Lord (but not High King) of the few Noldor remaining in Middle Earth, he and his sons (Elros having chosen to be made all human) representing the only male descent of Finwe and the Noldor kings remaining in Middle Earth.

Ok... Hoom, Hoom....!

I dunno if I should make this easy or not!

Ok, what did Sam call the annoying creatures in the Dead Marshes???
