I intend to participate, although at first glance I don't hope to gather even half of the points - just haven't found the time yet. The quiz does look great however - congrats on its completion.

Well, thanks. Making such quizzes are tricky, and it is impossible to please everybody. So a couple of positive feedbacks goes a long way.
I must emphasize that participation is what counts here, so just send me your entry whenever you can find time for it. As already stated, I am also open for extending the dead-line.
Also vogtmurr regained the lead by improving his score with 3 p, to a toal of 42. A good score , but not impossible to beat.

To me sgt Cribb's quizzes aren't very hard, they usually are very well composed of easier and harder questions. Enough of easy ones to make people intrested and enough of hard to make it challenging and separate those who know more.

I'm sorry to inform you that I don't have the time atm. We're moving to a new house this weekend. My girlfriend is 6 months pregnant so I'll have to do the fun part. I thought earlier on that I could squeeze in some time, but alas that isn't so. Maybe next time when we've settled down.

I originally thought only the web was off limits but they I was unsure and i informed you, also I'm unsure how some one can know was many as Yeekim, that's a lot of stuff

No, every source is forbidden, either internet or written material. You did the mistake to "confess" your "crime".

I'm currently reading my Library (over 10k books) for the next quiz, luckily I create "cheat" sheets for books (basically a Cornell note style summary), g2g the library calls

Capital! I have a few books myself, but some of them are used beyond recognition, while a large part has been lost during the years for various reasons.
Do you mind telling me where you found the expalnations on all those Victorian slang words (if they were not taken directly from your head, that is.
