question #1 seems to be causing alot of confusion.
to clarify:
this is not a nation with colonies, or things which are similar to colonies. Guadeloupe, Réunion, or French Polynesia, for the purposes of this question, qualify as colonies. As do places like Bermuda, or Gibralter. Hence, for this reason, I can tell you that Britain, France, Spain, Portugal, and other such nations, do therefore not qualify.

I'd also say that there is no such thing as the British "Tory Party". There is the Conservative Party, the members of which are often referred to in a slightly derogatory way as "Tories" because of their historic links with the Tory faction in the eighteenth century. However, the Liberal Party cannot claim to be older, because it doesn't exist. The modern Liberal Democrat Party is the heir to the old Liberal Party but it was founded only about 15 years ago (off the top of my head).
