I got it.

Hopefully play tonight.

Preturn: Everything looks nice. Hit enter.

IBT – Hittites fortify all those warriors right where they stood.

1225 bc – (1) – no too keen on trying to kick the warriors out. Settler sent to city loc SE of Veii. Send southern warrior to help defend vs. 8 Hittite warriors (all reg at least).

1200 bc – (2) – There is definitely no choke point north of Rome.

1175 bc – (3) – There is however, more coast fairly close to it. Ravenna founded, start curragh.

1150 bc – (4) – Rome spear -> spear. Cumae spear -> spear.

1125 bc – (5) – Neapolis spear -> settler.

1100 bc – (6) – Veii granary -> worker. Pisae curragh -> barracks.

IBT – Chitchen Itza completes the Pyramids. Orleans completes the Great Wall.

1075 bc – (7) – Rome spear -> settler. Veii worker -> spear.

1050 bc – (8) – Did anyone watch the Sox-Yanks today? Great game! Well, maybe not so much for the Yankees, but that’s OK. Maybe this will finally be the year ……

1025 bc – (9) – Cumae spear -> spear.

1000 bc – (10) – Pompeii settler -> spear? Baghdad completes SoZ. Will leave settler pair in Pompeii for next player.

Warrior east of Rome for the settler due there in 3. Spear headed to Neapolis for settler due there in 2. Map making in 7 at +2. Need one more spear to complete our defensive wall for Hittites.

I still believe!

Probably not likely, but I have seen a "pangaea" that had one rather large island the Egyptians got stuck on. They were only separated by one tile at the closest point, but on an island they were!

That would change things a bit I'd imagine.

Although we may need another player, I would think that you are up until we get someone to fill the empty slot.

We have an opening, but you're still up, microbe.

If we are on an island... Damn it, I chose Pangaea! Arg... That was specifically to allow us to control most of the continent and have low corruption across the board. *sigh* The lowered corrruption will also give an advantage to the continental AIs.

Oh well. At least that means we have no competition for the northern grasslands :goodjob:

@Cuivienen
I'd be glad to return the favor and join in your Roman game,

I'll be glad to take it with Cuivnienen's concurrence.

@microbe
Bede, not Bebe, too old and ugly to be called a babe! :)

Cuivienen, not Cuivnienen :p

Certainly you can join. Adding you into the roster right now.

What about using the yellow dot, and the putting another city on the coast next between that fish and the mountains?

preturn: move the settler.

IBT France builds ToA. :eek:

(1)975BC: raise sci to 90, MM due in 5.

IBT Neapolis settler->temple. Mongols completes MoM. Japan completes Hanging Gardens. We are really backward! Volcano erupts!

(2)950BC: zzz

(3)925BC: We found Hispalis. Looks like we _are_ on an island which is separated by one coastal tile with others! We are stuck with Hitties.

IBT Hitties starts Great Lighthouse! It means it gets Map Making. :(

(4)900BC: zzz

IBT Map Making -> Lit in 12 turns at -4gpt.

(5)875BC: zzz
(6)850BC: zzz
(7)825BC: Viroconium founded.
(8)800BC: I start building archers..
(9)775BC: Found Lugdunum.

IBT FP message appears. England completes Great Lighthouse.

(10)750BC: We spot a border looks like Korea?

Note, there are some islands in the south unoccupied. We have a galley due next turn and a settler is close to Ravena. I suggest sending it to the island to settle. But we still need to settle our own island first as England has Great Lighthouse and will reach us.

I started some temples and you may want to switch to others.

Hitties is not much better. Once we get iron working we can consider taking it out. But we need to expand first.

Lit is due in 5 turns.

This may be a knucklehead question, but I have yet to see the answer. How do I crop the screenie so that it's not huge? I can change the size of the image, but then there are large white borders when I post it. I only have the basic paint program that comes with XP.

What I do is go to Image->Attribute, and set width/height to a small value (like 10). Then each time you do File->New, it creates an empty image 10x10, and you do paste, as long as the image in clipboard is bigger than 10x10, it will ask if you want to expand. You say yes, and you get the right size.
