I know exactly what you mean... :D

To pre-empt a question I foresee, no, deforestation and farming are not required for those other techs, so it is perfectly sound that they are not required for era advance.

Edit: D'oh! Hope I didn't interrupt a screenshot series too terribly with my comment...

First contact with a neighbor, luckily the dwarves are friendly. Not sure what he talking about, but he seems nice.

Picking a fight with my other neighbor. With their cities out in the grasslands and plains they will have more fertile land and larger cities. Also makes them easier to defeat than my other dwarven neighbor which is hugging the mountains.

No biggy. I was just trying to kill some time and throw out some screenshots. None have ever been done, so I thought I'd show some of the early part of the game. I'm going to try to create some screenshots of later parts of the game with more units. Especially some of the big and nasty ones. ;)

Now I need to finish with what I was doing for SoG.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention. If any of you beta testers want to post some screenshots, go ahead. The mods not top secret. I'm hoping to get it released publicly within a month or 2 at most.

Thanks for posting the new biq with excluded resources. i'm going to start a game now and i'll try to post some screenshots later on. :)

is it me or does everyone always start near the lerendis

Anytime I've played I always end up with one or both of the dwarven civs near me, the only way I've managed to avoid it is to specifically exclude them. But that's no fun, I like to keep things random.

That is weird. I have only started one game out of 6 away from Ierendi. I don't like them next door either. They always seem to get pushy. And their navy is fearsome.

Me 2 Steel General. I had one game where I wasn't near any dwarves, and I was playing Alphatia. Unfortunatly I was righ next to Thyatis. By the 2nd era they had alreay attempted to invade. I guess my AI influence on civs getting along worked with these 2 civs. They always seem to be at war in the games I've played.

Its coming...

The beta is still being patched up to speed though, in particular relating to victories and game balance; I've put in some minimal graphics for the Spaceship Victory, as well as a big map of Mystara to be used as a world map and with potential use in scenarios, but tjedge has his hands full at the moment it seems. Once the victories are sorted out, I imagine the mod will be released for public consumption, which I imagine will almost certainly happen this month. That's a bit of conjecture though, so you might want to wait for tjedge to give the official word.

One question, pretty important for me - will this mod feature different civs, that will each have access to different techs, units, etc, like in warhammer mod ? :)

Yep. Even more so than the WH mod; there are about 3-6 unique small wonders for every single civ, almost all of which generate units. Each civ has appopriate terrain modifying actions available to them (elves forest, dwarves mine, etc.) and every unit is at the very least a flavor unit, if not completely unique to its civ.

Omg, it's gonna be a bestsel... umm, i mean, bestdownloader :bounce: :goodjob:

I'm now playing WH mod with my friends a lot, but if d&d mod will be better then WH in the means of interesting gameplay, then we'll obviously switch to d&d :king:

D&D is a great mod for sure. just have to get used to having food bonuses only giving you a small bonus
