Ierendi has been giving me a bit of trouble. Not many named settlements in that Gazetteer, but I've managed to come up with 40 so far (by including the Islands and a few Tourist Attractions).

I'll try to find other sources to fill in, but for now here is version 1.0 of the Ierendi City list.

As for filling in the other continents, there are a few civilizations mentioned at the Vaults of Pandius website, that may be of use.

I figured some of these would be tough considering the small size of some of these nations.

As far as the site, I have gotten a few from that site including High Shire. I saved it to my favs list when I started this mod. Thanks, I'm still rummaging through it to find some more ideas that I can do. Can't do the manscorpion civ for a lack of units. Too bad.

In some of the civs like Ylaruam and Ethengar you migh have to resort to tribe names and that will be fine. Even names off the list of local names for characters like in the Northern Reaches Gazeteer will be usable as long as they sound like they could be city names. Like Ari or Svala.

Thanks Isak, you are making my life easier. :goodjob: If there just isn't any way to get more than 50 then that will be fine. The original civ3 didn't have more than 15 for some civs.

Glad to be of assistance - I'm willing to do almost anything for a Mystara mod and scenarios, trust me on that :D

I'll be gone until thursday or friday, to celebrate New Years eve with the family, but hopefully I will return with the rest of my Gazetteers (I suspect they are in my parents' attic somewhere) and will supply you with some more city names then.

Just a thought - I guess Military Leaders and Science Leaders are needed too, right (or will that be Great Adventurers and Grand Wizards, perhaps :D )

Happy New Year :jump:

They might be renamed to that, but I haven't gotten that far in planning. If you wish to come up with names for those, that would be welcome. I'm hoping to dive into the work on this mod more aggressively next weekend and finish this by the end of January. Or at least the beta by then.

Yesterday was my b-day. :bday: to me!

Happy [party] New Year!

An update for what I have worked on lately.

I have finished enough of the terrain to post a screenshot, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to take one. :crazyeye:

So I'm going to post the list of terrain types and stats for now and a screenshot of these terrains and the city graphix.

EDIT: oops I hit the save reply for some reason

Anyway, here they are:

Ocean
Food = 0

I'm up for any disagreement on these. The reason for the highmovement cost is because I am going to raise all the movement rates for units so they can take advantage of racial specialties (IE: Elves in forests and dwarves in hills and mountains will ignore terrain costs.) A reason for low food for most terrain is because of the large number of resources I will use will add more food and because I'm thinking of making the civilian food consumption just 1 to get rid of starvation.

Here's those screenshots:

This is a glimpse of the largest cities graphix

This is a labeled glimpse of the different terrains. Some of the LM terrains look like the original for now. I want to change that, but I've not quite mastered the transparency thing.

EDIT: I have now switched the graphix for Ancient Forest and Forest. That doesn't show in the above picture.

Here's an updated shot of the terrain. This terrain is a combination of mods (Rhye's Terrain, Womak's Terrain, Fantasy Empires, War Hammer, and maybe Sn00py's Terrain.)

As you can see the Ancient Forest and the Broken Lands are different.

I recognice some of those cities. ;) Nice to see them being used.

If you use Photoshop I've a tutorial on transparency in my sig, it works for making terrain. :)

Thanks Mrtn. I actually found that in your sig yesterday, but I haven't read it. I subscribed so I could find again later. My glance at it made it sound simple enough.

@Arghis: I'll try to post the terrain here today so you will hve it. I was hoping you would like it. Once I found those Mountains by Womak, I was doing a dance at my computer.

Oops! It's fixed now, sorry about that. Can't believe I did that.
:insert smiley slapping his forehead:

with the new graphic (what a mess to find where different tiles goes ! )

i still have to put correct town gfx

volcanoes are a bit harder to see

u can see the difference by comparing with screenshot from post 95

overall seems a bit darker to me. but this is also because this part of the map is rather tight, there are many things in a small space.

so i use bonus grassland

no more forest, yes, but a better / clearer visual feeling.

there is another spot where i have the same prob, it's between Norfvik and Soderfjord. i think that as it makes little difference if we put a forest or a hill or another common ..., i'll use bonus or others slight adaptation, for the sake of clarity.

as for broken lands, well it's not bad.

i'm embarrassed by the ways mountains are with those gfx. i mean, snow capped mountain are not that different from usual mountains). Well, usuals mountains are a bit too white to my taste.
Ok, it's not a dramatic prob

u see a snow capped, under the barb (thar) camp, and normal mountains just over akesoli
