DaNES I: At the Precipice

Great. First turn and it looks like I'm going to have to deal with rebels already.
And how does this affect you? Are you making a declaration of war of somesort?

What do you do for diplomatic issues? Do you address them in the thread or do you pm the said person about the issues with them at the time?

To: German Empire
From: Kingdom of Belgium

In the interest of peace keeping and the neutrality of Belgium. We require the most up to date military weaponry that the German Empire possesses. We request the purchase of said technology from Germany or perhaps the purchase of the following.

-Modern Rifles and other Infantry Weapons
-One Brigade of Modern Tanks
-One Squadron of Modern Fighter Planes
-Three Modern Destroyers

We are willing to pay for these and indeed to secure our neutrality from either Alliance we will require them. If any other modern weaponry/vehicles you have are available within our price range of 2 EP[1] we will gladly buy these. Our goal for the Belgian armed forces is not size but technology. We do not intend to threaten any power in Europe with our armed forces but merely insure our sovereignty.

-Prime Minister Aloys van de Vijvere

------------------

[1]: The 2EP more than covers the price of what is asked for. Look at the pay sheet and you will see this. 1 EP could cover it technically.

Depends on if you want everyone to know what you're saying or not (sometimes you do, sometimes you don't)

@Luckymoose: by feeding extra funds (and massively overpaying ;)) into the german war machine you're giving them an advantage, hardly the action of a neutral ;).

From: Bolivia

Greetings, President Ahmed Djemal,
We Bolivians are interested in becoming a trade partner to the Turkish republic and wish to trade some important resources such as our lumber, chemicals and iron for your oil and technology. We also would like an alliance with your nation in which economic aid could be given when one of our nations is under attack by an invasion of some sort.

Thank you for your time and patience,
President Bautista Saavedra

I never said I would pay that. Just a base price. I will most likely pay 1 EP. As my government doesn't see the need for the excessive pay. Really all I want is the tanks the destroyers aren't needed. And infantry weapons. I could just as easily go to the UK but they don't have the most advanced. Though maybe I could get more.

@ Bolivia: How can you trade with Turkey or other nations for that matter, if you don't even have a coastline..? the world isn't that globalized yet.

If Belgium were willing to enter into an agreement of defensive alliance with the German Empire and her partners in the Triple Alliance, the United States and other Alliance members would look more favorably upon military cooperation with your state.

Pm me about it please. I will explain everything.

We must concur with our American allies. Too give an Entente or neutral nation such technology would not be in the interests of Germany.

TO: German Empire and United States of America
FROM: Kingdom of Belgium

We do not need to get such technology from you. We already have fairly advanced aviation technology. We will no longer ask for such transactions. In the future we will remember your unwillingness to cooperate to the defense of the most endangered of neutral nations. Being the most likely place for an attack between France and Germany is not something that passes our eyes. We can gain most of our needs from Britain but promise to not enter into any alliance without being invaded first hand. We also have no goals of increasing the number of infantry divisions in service and only wish to have one brigade of the latest armor that Germany has to offer. We have rethought our naval position and choose to not get a defensive navy for the sake of neutrality.

TO: United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland
FROM: Kingdom of Belgium

With the unwillingness of the Germany Empire to cooperate in the selling of modern armor and infantry weapons. We come to you our, admittedly, second on the list of dealers. Will you cooperate?

We hope that their recent belligerent actions towards the German Empire would disencourage Britain to provide Belgium, a clearly unstable nation, with more advanced military technology.

Your ridiculous behavior has been noted. Such irrelevent nations should not speak as if they can force their larger and superior neighbors into a clearly one sided trade.

i'll take france if its open, which it appears to be so, correct me if i'm wrong. If it is taken, I'll take spain if cleric doesn't want it

OOC: That is ridiculous. I am paying over the price for the units seeing as you get like 5 of each for 1 ep and I want like 1 for 1 ep. My actions are not strange and I could care less if you think me irrelevant. I ask for a small number of equipment; even dropping the ships which are the most expensive. I am doing it not to 'trick or undermined' you. But to help you both secure a neutral Belgium. And to defend myself from either side invading and getting an upperhand. So stop being Jerks and play the NES.

Ok, I would like to take France if a_propagandist has overextended his reservation, but other wise I will take spain, but it appears reservations are worthless now if u haven't confirmed them yet, so all I need is dachs' confirmation to take France if I am correct, otherwise I will take spain.

The stab in the back... spain not taken yet.... got grabbed by me!

Nation Background: Spain’s quasi-resurgence under the Habsburg Restoration, begun by Maximilian I, has somewhat petered out by now, and it is on the verge of losing Great Power status once more. The colonies are generally beginning to seethe with discontent, and at home a growing Marxist political group is causing trouble and demanding for a proletarian revolution, which seems remarkably likely in the wake of the hurried industrialization of the late nineteenth century. Spain is in a crisis, and perhaps not even victory in the upcoming global war can change that
