DarthNES II - Superpowers

The UIR believes that the Pan-American gang has no reason to interfere in southeast Asia.

Vietnam condemns all those who have launched invasions of South-east Asia, and all those who would seek to intervene for their own profit.

Vietnam condemns the United States for their hypocrisy in claiming to be the keeper of world peace while simultaneously invading its neighbors. The way of the Revolution is the only true way to peace.

Finally, Vietnam condemns the SALT treaty and those who are foolish enough to act as America's lackey's by promising to carry out the United Front clause. We care not if some countries would rather not posses nuclear weapons, but should Vietnam obtain nuclear bombs, we will use them in defense of the Revolution, regardless of the threats from our neighbors.

Intervention would not be profitable, and would quite likely speed the Australs' expansion rather than hinder that of Indonesia. Brazil only proposed a vote in Pan-Am because humanity need be strengthened through constant conflict! (Not that Brazil doesn't enjoy selfish profit, which it does very much.) Surely Vietnam plans to export its revolution abroad for similarily ideological reasons.
We agree on the point of SALT however, it would diminish future conflicts.

The United States is the keeper of world LAW.

Besides, we didn't propose the United Front Clause. We actually tried to avoid it originally by supporting a complete ban. If communism means to avoid televisions and world wide broadcasts of our conversations on C-span or whatever diplomatic channels you have, then its your ideologies' fault for your ignorance. If you have them, then its your own fault. Can you take a personal fault or will you blame your ideology?

Quick question. What do the numbers and letters mean by cities on the world map?

(They are your armies/naves/airforce. Numbers for Army/navy counted top/down, Letters for Airforce A/Z from Top/down)

Japan would like to state that we do not have to join in any war that does not affect us directly, nuclear or other wise, despite our signing of the SALT treaty. Our first priority is Japan's safety and not some far off nation's.

Oh I'm sorry.. I'll be withdrawing Japan's signature then, by no means am I committing 1/4 of my nation's income when it is already low. I will though follow some of the clauses just for good measure.. ( I mean in RL the US never signed the Test Ban treaty (IIRC) and we still haven't tested any Nukes since then)

Japan doesn't need defense from nuclear weapons. We see them as purely a retaliatory measure and most sane nations would not use them unless they're attacked with them first, and Japan certainly won't use them in any aggressive manner, so no defense is needed from them.

I read the rules twice and missed them. I checked a third time right before Terrance's response and it finally clicked.

Also, do you want a map in our updates?

It's not necessary, but if you feel your orders are complex enough or detailed enough to need them, feel free. Otherwise, you could just name places and I'll know where they are.

One more thing, here is a map of Oceania, what is considered to be the borders in our game? What is considered to be one province? For example, are New Caledonia and Vanuatu considered to be separate provinces, or are they one?

Also, do we assume NPC nations to have the same form of government as they do currently?

Hmmm, well in one of my revisions I forgot to move my fleet, so it's probably a good idea just for a visual backup.

Btw., Brazil announces it's fleet is busy this round and it has also found out it'll take way too long to sail over to Malaysia. Anyways, we're still diplomatically opposed to this unjustified imperialism... unlike the soybean war (the Brazilian war to end Paraguayan agricultural secessionism) there is no perfectly legitimate reason to conquer Malaysia!!!!
Anyhow we support the Austral Union's position on the issue. It is such a beautiful country.

President’s Veto is Overriden: Pro-war Activists take over Congress
Consitutionists and Republicans join a Pro-War Coalition in an effort to bring America into a new proactive stance. They passed a new budget that cut some of the economic projects in favor of military expansion, then rammed it through the presidential veto. Following the successful takeover of the Bahamas, they continued with an Ordinance of Territorial Expansion, renewed the Charter of the Marine Corps and the National Guard, and reorganized the Atlantic and Pacific Expeditionary Forces.

President Powers Takes Stand for Peace by Weaponizing Space
Standing as firmly as possible on his election platform and mindful of his election promises and global pronouncements, President Powers decided to follow with the new budget. However, with some tinkering he managed to reclassify NASA as a para-military Space Agency, and dedicated the new funds to that. Although the possible weaponization of space is threatening, the scientists applaud the saving of the space program in the face of Indian success.

Marine Corps and National Guard is Reestablished
A move that was supported by President Powers despite his anti-war outlook, the Marine Corps and National Guard was reestablished. As Americas armies movies out into the world, these specially trained forces would be useful to gain beachheads in foreign lands and defend territories of the United States of America.

Economy Lagging Behind: Powers Agrees to Specialize
President Powers, in addition to sparing politically with his Pro-War president and the new congress, also agreed to specialize America’s resources in the light of international developments. By focusing on one item at a time, they hope to achieve success in each field at a time. The budget was supposedly reset for military expenditure, but wheeling and dealing moves it firmly under NASA control.

Lovely San Fran/Golden Gate picture. Is that the National Guard? I like the blue and white of their uniforms though they could be more fashionable while at the same time being a bit overdressed to my tastes. The austere seasonal background of the picture and the monolith thingy I've forgotten what is (a war memorial I think) is quite striking though.
If there's a mini-update some other time, will they only cover PC nations or might we see the faces of some NPCs? (Lol, this seems dangerous to ask, they appear to be just our food after all... even the ones with four cities and above (the number threes do seem to pose some threat though).)
Oh btw., can we invest cash in finding spying out more details on NPCs and each others military strengths? That is, spy agency actions other than 'fund insurgency'.

Orders done with! : )

No, that's the marines. You can tell, as the flag of the Marines is right behind the United States Flag. Also, its just the Washinton Momument, which, in my travels, is the least exiciting of them all (Though there is a law stating that no building can be taller in D.C. than it...)
