I have eaten some odds things in my day. Frogs legs, Rattlesnake, Crayfish, Squirrel, Raccon, to name a few.
I do not want to know, plus the thought of eating thoes animals just churns my stomach because they are not normal animal meat to me.

@civg, Pigeons are not too small. I used to hunt doves and quail to eat, and they are much smaller than pigeons.
Then how come people dont eat them? I mean, they are all over the place in New York City.

Civg- oh and I forgot goat and rabbits and hare;) EDIT: and Calamari (squid or octopus?) man it is so hard to keep count.

And pigeons, I am not talking about your common city pigeons, bleh. I am talking those pretty pigeons of official breeds bred in captivity and being one ball of juicy meat, hmmm...

Ibex- my grandfather for example, though he only killed two in his thirty years of hunting.

Horses and donkeys can go lame, it would be waste of meat, so Boxer is sent to retirment house. And best salami in the world are made of horse meat.

I say we should be able to eat any animal our culture allows, including endangered species. Yum. Meat.

Several of these things are illegal ;). Only boar of those I forgot, I posted just what I ate.

If it was normal to eat fried dung bettles as if there were French Fries you'd probably think of the idea of eating a cow as gross. ;)

People don't have the guts to kill anything themselves. There are millions of pigeons in NYC as you've said, probably more than the human population and yet (I've heard) that one million chickens are slaughtered daily to feed them (the people). Kind of sad really.

Anything can be eaten, in my opinion, that can be killed. So that is why we should back off endangered animals but I am fine with squid (actually I don't much care for it) or turtle or whatever strikes one's fancy.

Rabbits and Hares, they are alright provided you have a good aim. They are quick little buggers ;).

Nope, Pigeons are just not my cup of tea.

Still, its should not be considered animal food.

Realy, I dont wish to eat horses and donkeys. I perfer to give them a burial and realy dont care about the waste of meat. Eating a horse it like eating your car.

Mmmmmm.... The best part of humans are the flesh on the tighs... yum.

Food is anything that is eatable. Wheather or not I'll eat it is diffrent. I my self would eat human meat if its tasty.

Insects are a very good foodsource - plentiful, easy to catch and rich in protein.

At our house, ants always 'accidently' find their way into the food chain...

I honestly dont want to know, epsecialy I have not eaten yet. :yuck:

Swans? this reminds me of a problem in Dublin; some lithuanians kept
hunting and cooking the swans in the lakes.
apparently its a delicacy over there.[lithuania]

People don't like looking at animal farming photography, but they like having a good steak don't they?

I mean, how could you feed millions of people without such farms?

Eating animals for survival is okay in my opinion. Supporting factory farming is messed up though. There are alternatives, so the suffering created to animals is unnecsasarily cruel. I can understand eating something you killed. I personally have eaten a few things I killed, but I'm against the commodification of life. Consuming a creature that undergoes pain just to suit a flavor you enjoy is messed up.

I heard that cannibals say that the best part is the palm/whatever you call the foot palm...

I believe there is a moral difference between eating a cow, and eating a human being.

The only time I believe eating a human being would be morally acceptable, would be if they were already dead, and there were no other food sources available - it was eat or die. In that case, it would be acceptable, if not good.
