Deity Challenge #12 - The Celts on Pangaea

Get the next one going!! :)

Try the into the renaissance deity domination, I posted it just for you. There is plenty of fighting, proly more than in three deity challenges put together, save your five team one. You get to pick your own civ and you will have something to play in between DChallenges.

Goodie, that someone is.
I'm currently trying to roll an interesting start with India, Terra & all G&K Civs with self-set rules that will (hopefully) make both cult & dom VCs a reasonable option.

And I don't know if this is too much to ask, but would you be willing, at least for the first day or two not to post the world-type? I regard it as part of my challenge, in the early going, to discern that, and adjust my strategy as it becomes clearer. It's a little thing, but it's part of how I play.

I am actually a bit iffy about that, because I only play on land maps such as Pangaea. It's just a personal preference.

Well, it shouldn't be too much to ask map type to be presented within spoiler tags. I admit I didn't even think about that as publishing it seemed like giving everyone a level playground.

Fine with me. The point of the challenges to allow as many players as possible to participate. The host will decide though.

I hope only G&K is used, as well (unless, of course, the challenge uses one of the DLC civs).

I got all the DLCs now, but I used to lack them... and as a result couldn't play a lot of the older challenges.

Well, I'd like to beat the heck out of Korea asap, but oh well... I'll restrain myself.

Either I just suck in general or as Gandhi specifically or my self-set rules turned out something I hoped for - I'm actually in a position where I could lose my capital before T100 - screw the culture, this is tricky enough without Utopia in sight.

Any news on the DC13 ?

It might be Gandhi's fault. Not yours. :D
I'm still waiting for Tommy, but I think I shouldn't. Most people will probably be even happier if we have 2 challenges. Give me a couple of hours. :)

Sure thing, I'm not in a hurry but I didn't lose my capital - wasn't even close after all. Impressive offensive army somehow just vanished but the spying thing got me almost seriously annoyed again. Somebody stole Philosophy from me while I am the worst in tech, capital has no Uni while my 007 is on tech lead's capital which has GL & Uni and it's still 13 turns until I can have a tech or a funeral.
Anyhow, I think I'll stick with this pale dude for a while, at least until the next DC is up - he seriously forces me to change the playing style if I ever had one.

its Ok, I tried a bit around with settings yesterday and came up with a pretty interesting game setup, but in 6 restarts I didnt find a interesting map making the game what I want it to be.

But maybe its OK to discuss what I was thinking about here:
pangea map, 7 ai, 16 CS, no huts, normal barbs - standard
own civ France (the civ which no hut setting hurts least imo)
AI civs grouped in packs of 3 and 4
no contacting ai at all allowed, if ai contacts u dont speak to it - no change of embasies (spies disabled aswell).
The only ever contacting of ai is to declare war and make peace - peace deals only "clear" no getting 100 gp/t and all lux from ai for peace

This d obviously go soon into a huge war, and I m not 100% sure if thats really interesting. The best and hardest thing of it d be that wars are harder like that as without grouping and with peace deals into players favour, peace deals into players favour make offensive wars just so strong.

When I wanted to steal borrow your idea, I was thinking about no lump sum deals, i.e. lux for lux, embassy for embassy and white peace. Also AI teams are probably not whacky enough for Peter but definitely very whacky for me. However, I might still try this.
