Deity/Domination or Violent Culture/Large Map

Bugsy, you should definitely install EUI, that way your screenshots can provide much more information like relationship status with city states, army size sorted by unit type, turns to next policy, stuff like that. I forgot to point out the religious situation, we seem to have a lot stashed up, maybe there are some religious buildings we can get for an increase in culture/happy

I'll look into getting that. Mostly I'm a lazy butt.

Fired up. Right off the bat, I gave 5 Iron to Germany in exchange for Gold. The game inaccurately listed Germany as only having one, but he indeed have spares as EUI showed. (is that cheating?)

Next, I staged a coup in Bucharest, which is a cultural city state. I have sold excess strategics, we have 116 GPT now

OK, there are still some bits and pieces I may not have fully understood:

1. I can time the next policy to be after Ideology, so if we pick Order, we can go for 3 right away provided nobody picks in between, which shouldn't happen as we're tied for 2nd in Literacy. I will pick Socialist Realism obviously which should get us +16 happy.

2. Since it's quicker to get there via an Oxford bulb into Radio, I can do that. If you'd rather save Oxford for Electronics, go ahead and tell me. I can bulb the pair of scientists for Electricity and Rifling and use Oxford on Replaceable Parts. Then, we can expect Electronics around T200. Capitals are all INLAND though

3. We have 8 Frigates, 4 Minutemen left and some XBs. Dynamite is not on the way of suggested bulb list, but we sure as hell need Artillery for the inland conquest.

4. There's a Great Artist doing nothing and we don't really have anywhere to put him, so a Golden Age?

If we aren't going for a culture victory, that a GA sounds good.

Concur with needing artillery, even if it is only on the way to rocket arty. I just got my head handed to me in a personal game by great war infantry. Artillery don't make a big dent in those.

Venice might be on the coast. I like this tech path, but we might want Acken to weigh in as well since my late game expertise is limited to bruising brawls.

I think we are agreed that order is the way to go. I say do whatever you think is necessary to maximize our social policies.

I'd preffer not pick radio which is useless for us. Unless it's really impossible to get those factories up.
You can also try to enter modern with Flight instead of radio which is way better idea if you want to get ideologies that way. Burning a GS or two is preferable to getting useless radio.

We also need Biology. I think battleships are more important than artilleries. We only need arties for getting the capitals while we'll cripple everyone with ships. I'd just go biology (after dealing with ideology problems) electronics dynamite rocketery

I think flight and several bombers could really help the invasion effort. We'll need carriers, but we get those after flight.

Turn 182: Found GBR and bulbed one GS for Rifling and Metalurgy. Ideologies up in 3 Bulbed an Artist for golden age. We have 160gpt now

Turn 183: Korean settler appeared out of nowhere, we don't give him open borders so it's unclear where they will settle up. German settler though, will likely pass unattended and settle down close to us. I absolutely hate giving open borders to anyone, but I guess I should have spoken about that earlier. Germany buys Gems and Crabs for 240 a piece. Uffizi and Brandenburg have been built

I can upgrade MM to Rifles and XBs to GGs. It can wait though

Turn 186. Oxforded Flight as agreed. Picked Order with Young Pioneers and Soc Realism. Our happiness is now at +19. Circus Maximus hasn't been built yet. I started a Factory in Boston, coastal cities are gonna get Armories and stuff. Biology is in 2 turns, so let's see if the deserts around the parts where America killed and conquered spread democracy and freedom are rich in oil.

I can buy Monaco with a 1000 gold gift which would get us more culture.

Buildings:

New York: Bank -> Factory
Philly: Harbor -> Factory
Boston -> Circus Maximus

We are swimming in gold at 250gpt

Turn 187. Persia pick Freedom and already puts as back from +19 to +7 so I pick Academy of Sciences to brings us to +14. Biology is finished and we have access to 28 Oil and 4 we can grab with a citadel

Ouch, Germany backstab denounced us on T194. Happiness is down to +4 but Circus Maximus should be online soon. Factories are done, Electronics can be straight up bulbed and Battleships at the ready.

Economy is really nice and the only issue is Germany who seem to be massive right now

I think we should go straight for Germany with our BS advantage. Get weak Venice on the way. Another good target is Persia, I'll have to look at the game but maybe we can get our happiness back.

Garden in new york doesn't sound very useful :p

Germany does sound like a good target, especially if we have an edge at the moment.

Bonn with the oil nearby might be something we keep and not raze. Although 32 oil does sound like a goodly amount. Nevertheless, when we add in a fleet and aircraft, we can use that up quickly.

I read this and thought, "What the @#%$ are they talking about? There is a factory in New York." Then I pulled up the screenshot. Oh. Now I get it.

A session spent mostly navigating west.

Turn195: Micromanagement
-diminish growth, increase production. We're low on happiness and in a production phase anyway
-removed garden started on GWB, removed bank started on Zoo
-I will move the lvl 3 spy around
-Also guys you should put units in cities during peace time because of tradition

T196:
-Frigate in washington
-500 gift to hong kong (quest)
-Annex Carthage
-The cargo from Lisbon will do production from Phili to carthage

T197:
RA finished, with a GS I get electronics, on the way to rocketery
Time to use that GA

T198:
Our 8 battleship fleet goes west toward germany
We're quite far from them, I think getting a coastal city on the other continent and then using airlifts will be necessary for the future of our conquest Radar will be online around T215

T199:
New GS
Bought a privateer we have no melee ship...

T200:
Annex Sukhotai
I put one spy in washington. maybe it will level him up

T201:
Another finished RA. I bring the workers for soon railroads

T202:
Hehe our spy levels up.

T203:
New Policy. It seems late for hero of the people (+25% GPP) so I get skyscrappers since we have good gpt
I buy monaco for 1K (quest)
Germany is sadly getting planes... hope we can strike quickly. I queue up triplanes and carreers.

T204
Bulb railroad start making them

T206
We cannot hit germany without air defense. Change of plans, I go after Polynesias coastal cities, wait for our anti air and then hit germany. We also will be able to air lift units more easily if the war drags on.
I buy a great engineer for the Kremlin. Nothing else interesting for a dom V

T207
Polynesia is very weak

T209
First city falls

T210
Rush Kremlin
Buy one triplane, one is built, career is built

Notes:
With at least 1 career with 3 triplanes in it it may be sufficient to take down germany, we also have more battleships on the way.
Economically we need happiness and gold
Meanwhile I simply suggest getting a second career filled with planes and more battleships.
Our current fleet should just acquire the polynesian cost, razing when necessary and acquiring XP. I suggest annexing one of them so that we can make an airport there. It will also be important to link our empire through harbors.

Note that order level 3 gives us free annexations.

Spoiler :

We are going to use that second UU, right?

Also, any ideas how to fix happiness?

Oh, this looks like fun! I will get to use the new mod for the first time.

I think we should go to 10 turn rounds now. These will be long turn sets.

Happy buildings. It helps that we have a strong economy.

Looking at the tactical situation I think we will want to keep at least two Polynesian coastal cities - Nuku Hiva and Tonga. This will give us a wider front to move on Honalulu. Right now we would have to go through that two tile gap to get there and we would be exposed to flanking attacks from Tonga.

I like going for rocketry because then we can go for rocket arty. Do we have to have dynamite first? I don't think so. Although we may not be able to upgrade our cannon.
