Deity game

@ Samsa:

Thanks a lot for helping me out:goodjob:

And yes, you did a brillinat job:king:

...

You can have the honor to post our last turnset (the winning one:cool:) and I go on after that untill the game is over for all

If you don´t have time to post our last turnset, I can do it (will be busy this weekend anyways to continue my DD-story), just send me a PM

...

And thanks again for helping out:goodjob:

Round 12

Spoiler :

MM builds all Radio Wonders :( no Cristo Redentor for the Greek People

The United Nations are built by MM
turn258deityfunUN.jpg

I take effort in making friends. My navigation 2 promoted transporters need 4 turns to reach Gilga's land. After getting there I gift them to Gilga to be able to build the next three missionaries ASAP. So I can bring 3 missionaries every 5 turns to Gilga. But he has a lot of cities (close to 20), all Tao.
turn260deityfunmissionaries.jpg

Could not convince Gilga to convert to Budhism "too few of our people..." and so nobody wins the first vote. Suprisingly SB abstains. MM is still far away of a cultural win. His strongest cities has 25000 culture thanks to Izzy which founded all religions except for confucianism - Greece, Hinduism - Sala, and Tao - MM.
turn269deityfunfailedvote.jpg

If all diplomatic efforts fail, I still will have a powerfull army. Madrid for example builds a promo 4 tank every turn and Gilga still has only rifles not even canons.

Finally!! :king:
The game deciding deal?

Round12:

Spoiler :
Rorschach:

Round 1
Shipping troops towards Mansa´s land to move them over his railroad net, bringing our healers to the front

Round 2
Building some drydocks, to get some ships with two promotions online, to break SB´s superiority there (we need to rule the sea also, to make sure Mansa doesn’t do too much damage IF he joins the war).

Round 3
SB cancels his deals with us… …maybe he got suspicious

Round 4
View attachment 175310
We declare, SB has about 60 rifles and 20 cannons (we have about 150 units, so we should be all right… …long live the whip and drafting)

Round 5
We are battling with equal troops and against grown cities. The attack at Uruk costst 10 cannons and some other units…

Round 6
Uruk down

Round 7
we heal, no counterattack

Round 8-10
Weg et artillery, and capture Kish, we have killed now about half of SB´s units
Mansa builds the docking bay
We rule the sea now
SB is already defeated and wants to capitulate

…

Spy:

Round 1
We take SB´s capitualtion and pick the city of Anhaicia it is in SB´s backland and has some land around it… ...still not enough for Dom:mad:

We use the whip to get two settlers for our home-conti to settle near Isa and in some infertile desert (since we calculated now that we don’t have enough land, even with SB´s cities out of revolt)

Round 2
Doing some trades to increase Mining to 26 hammers

Round 4
View attachment 175311
Building a city near Spain and in the Desert near Rome

Round 5-6
View attachment 175313
An extremely close Victory!!!!
View attachment 175312

Overall a very funny game, I enjoyed playing a lot (although I lacked the time to finish it alone) and one of the closest victories ever I got (although having 3-4 times the units compared to Mansa, battling mechinfs and modernarmour with arti and inf would have been extremely... ...well... ...not so successfull)

Sorry, I am not able to play this round today - unfortunately, "WHEOOH" until Wednesday. So, I have to postpone it a bit. Will post as soon as I can.

@ Team Snaaty. Congratulations to your win, domination really wasnt easy in that set-up :goodjob:

@ Snaaty. Do you plan to start another succession game of the same style?
I finished my game in Round 13 and now I would have the time to join another one :D

That one was really fun and a great learning session for me !

Uff! So, I have to hurry... I can only second Flo7. Even though I haven't finished my game yet, it was a really good learning experience so far. So, I would like to join the next one as well. I hope the discussion on which leader to take next will fill a few days... ;)
Btw, perhaps the next thread could get a nicer heading - more teasing.

Another interesting idea would be to do a discussion/succession game as you, Snaaty, did in your German forum. You gave some very valuable tips there... :)

I don´t have too much time lately. That was one of the reasons I turned my game into a "real" Succession Game (SG)...

...

On the other side, deity is always a little luck dependend in the beginning, so it would be too risky to start a real SG right away...

...

What about the following concept:

Turnsets:
1: 40 turns
2: 30 turns
3: 20 turns
4: 15 turns
5-end: 10 turns

We make a team of 4 playes. All must be strong players and have some deity experience. Best would be the players that finished (or are about to finish) the game here:

Flo
CellKu
Rusten
Snaaty (me)

Rules:

Rule 1:
Round 1 - 4:
All players play round 1, then we discuss the saves and go on with the best 3 saves (worst save and player drop out). We vote for this pretty easy:
Each player has 3 votes, 3,2,1 Point and he can´t vote for his own save
Then 3 players play round 2, all 4 vote again, we go on with the best 2 saves in round 3, vote again, then the player who dropped out first picks the save and plays round 4.
Like this we should make sure, we have the best possible start

Rule 2:
From turn 5 on we play in true succession style

Rule 3:
No replays, reloads etc. we should have a good start with rule 1, so what´s done is done

Rule 4:
We play in fixed turnsets:
24 hrs to take a look at the save and to propose the plan for the turnset
24 hrs for the team to discuss
24 hrs to play
= 3 days
Like this, we make sure we discuss enough and every player knows in advance when he is up

Rule 4:
When you are in the team and you have to drop out of this game after it has started or are unavailable to play a certain turnset, please post a notification here IN TIME, so we can look for a replacement or change the roster

...

When you like the idea, subscribe here. I will start a new threat after the team is up (I will PM the above mentioned, they can subscribe first)

Sounds good. I am in. :)

Rules are also ok for me.
Just one comment, I think turn 40 is too early to drop one save, since the strenght of the game may not be visible. Perhaps we shoud wait till the end of turnset 2 (round 70) before start dropping

Sure, I'm in, and I agree with Flo7, 40 turns is too short.

Also recommend to those that enjoyed this game to look at ABigCivFan's new thread in strategy and tips, I had a lot of fun playing that game. The starting position is a little too good, but the rival AIs make up for it, all the good ones (Hannibal, Mansa Musa and so on).

The game is here -> http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=270953

Great! :goodjob: I am definitely in as well!! The rules are fine with me. Concerning first turn I would side with Snaaty. During the first 40 turns you have a lot of important choices to make that affect your game in the long run (I remember the huge difference the two early cottages made in my game in this thread).

Cool:king: we got game then:

I would like to play a random leader and a random map... ...basically everything random...:crazyeye:... ...but I´m open for discussion here

...

I would open a new thread and roll a start on wednesday.

Round 1:
Thursday playing, Friday voting

Round 2:
Saturday playing, Sunday voting

Round 3:
Monday/Tuesday playing, Wednesday voting

Round 4:
Thursday/Friday discussing, Saturday playing

...

From then on we follow the timeline in rule 4:
Player 1: 11.5-13.5
Player 2: 14.5-16.5
Player 3: 17.5-19.5
Snaaty 4: 20.5. 24.5 (if that is OK:p)

...

PLEASE NOTE:
I´m on holiday from Thursday next week 08.05 to Friday 23.05. with no access to internet, so we need to stick to the timeline above (and I can´t be the one who plays Round 4:crazyeye:)

@Snaaty: That looks like a tough schedule... ;) I would have preferred to have two days of playing the first rounds, just to have some leeway as I am quite busy right now. However, I understand that you will be away and will do my best. :)
Moreover, I will only have sporadic internet access during the next days - hopefully a working one as I will not be at home. So, in case I will miss a deadline you know why.

With regard to randomness: why not try it. If the start is impossible we can reroll...

@ CellKu and team:

Yea, sorry for the rushed start:blush:... ...but it is the only way I can get this running before my holliday, else we would have to wait 3 week more...

...

But I will start the new threat and post a save already tonight to give you one day more for turnset 1. It would be a shame if CellKu wouldn´t have a chance to play the start... ...and for turnset 2... ...just play a REALLY bad turnset 1 and you are off the hook:lol:

Set-up is fine with me.
Did never before a random leader. Will be fun but could be tough...
