As in scenery.
I can think of a few which i like. Since i have moved to a different part of the city, i am very near a few small gardens which can be called 'internal', as they are surrounded by tall buildings. They have benches and trees. I enjoy sitting on the benches and looking around at the balconies.
I also like small parks, although here they cannot be found; there are only some larger ones, and a continious park along the waterfront.

Honestly? My ideal environment is a rural suburb. Plenty of space, some forests, good people, and quiet.

A smallish town in a cool, quiet part of creation where no one on the outside really cares.

Think the Shire.

Great thread!!!

I love nature but I also love beautiful and grand architecture. So either a castle surrounded by forests or classical buildings/city surrounding by forests.

This painting of an intact Acropolis by Klenze is a pretty ideal environment for me. Not only do I love the statues, buildings and nature but it looks like a beautiful dusk. I could stare at it all day.

Alternatively, I also love cloudy, stormy and windy weather but not raining. Especially if I'm on a beach.

Very nice painting, Bast :)
I would have liked to be moving slowly down the stairs, to reach the theatre where new plays would be performed shortly after my descent :)

My favourite environment ? A Linux environment, possibly Ubuntu with GNOME, with Firefox, OpenOffice.org, and a working (native ?) Civ4. ;)

Very beautiful painting, Bast ! :) I'm currently reading a magazine about the Acropolis, so it was nice to recognize the main buildings (and the Athena Promachos statue). BTW, what could the place in the foreground be ?

I was allways enrapt by Switzerland or New Zealand on pictures.
Switzerland (next to maybe Austria) is the most gorgeous place I've ever been.

Cabin in the (Southern) Rocky Mountains at sunset in mid-summer, with the mountains glowing red, a fire in the fireplace, maybe 70 degrees outside, stars starting to show up...

Not that I've done that, but it sounds awful nice.

Where i currently live. Lots of room in the house, a huge garden surrounded by trees and hedges, quiet neighbours, grocery stores within 2 minutes bike ride, a wood&small lake within 10 minutes of bike ride and pubs within 10 minutes of bus ride.

I'd like some place that is well forested but kind of like an island of the city in the middle of nature. Like a set of apartment rises. And connected to the main city with a bus or a train or some kind of mass transit.

And mostly sunny.

Nice thread.

I have many ideal enviroments - depending on my mood.

I'm too lazy to post them all now, but here's one:

Me sleeping on a stone altar in the middle of a dense forest. The altar is surrounded by large menhirs with runes and stuff on them. The altar is covered in blood and it's raining heavily.

And everytime i think about it, i realise that the rain is actually the most important part in this enviroment that makes me happy. :crazyeye:

Penthouse suite of a luxury condo, with a rooftop garden that includes a swimming pool and a jacuzzi. :D

Building is but one of many located within a large landscaped compound, to the south is a large city park and elsewhere surrounding this is a mall, a pedestrian shopping district, a school, a hopital, a police station and a fire station. :goodjob:
