Which both were extremily succesful! ;)

LoL
That said most of the gold went back in the accounts of European nations eventually as abusive war reparation which the Western Powers imposed on China by beating her up each time they were given even a glimmer of a splinter of a chance.

And eventually most of that gold ended up in China. China accepted only gold for centuries. They must have got an extremely large goldreserve nowadays. Anybody knows about that?

Actually it was more silver than gold if you refer to the chronicle English deficit while buying tea from China until the Opium wars.

As I'm sure you've all noticed, the link to the second screenshot in the newest designer diary article is no good. However, after looking at the HTML and messing around with a few things, I was able to track the image down! Enjoy!

Edit: How did that happen? I could have sworn I posted this as a reply to the related thread...

We can fix that .... ;) --Padma

In that picture, there are a Portuguese Caravel. The Portuguese UU is the Carrack(NAU) that replaces the caravel

In the age of sail scenario the Portuguese UU is other than the Carrack ?

Wath is the Portuguese UU in the age of sail scenario ?

EDIT: Azores should have whales near by. There are a lot of whales in Azores every year..:(

I guess they wil start with a standard caravel, but I`m sure they will be able to build the carrack! Guess its just to not give them an overkill adventage from the beginning of the game perhaps... :D

The Portuguese do not have a UU in this scenario. Instead, their advantage is that they start the scenario in a Golden Age due to the recent completion of the Dias' Voyage Great Wonder.

All of the nations start with Caravels and can advance to Carracks and Galleons as the game progresses.

Are Man-O-Wars now available to everyone? (Because the Brittish get the Sea Dog instead)
