DGIT # 2-Krafty Koreans

Great turns! We should wipe them out though. Make the contient ours, and only worry about ships landing a few troops until the modern age. Maybe we should do all our conquest now. How do our other neighbors look, militaristically? Gonna be easy to finish them out. Don't let them even get that one fur! We may need it for the future. Again, great set of turns... wouldn't want to write that one up.

Well, if we wanna whipe America out, we need to take St. Louis for peace, and then redeclare after twenty.
Or we can just stay at war with them during our conquest of Sumeria and Byzantium...
Speaking of which... Sumeria and Byzantium have some jungles around their borders...
Meaning we won't be able to swoop through with knights... So we should get conquering soon.
Mongolia can wait, since iirc it has its own peninsula... And the ways to it are quite open...
Also... Should we maybe start to send out suicide Gallies? We're gonna run out of friends quickly if we don't.

IMO we should secure the continent as soon as possible.

The sooner the continent is ours, the faster we can boost our infrastructure and the faster we can get our spaceship launced.

BTW Got it.

I think we need to choose between killing off the Mongols first, or killing off the Sumerians and then the Byzantines.
We should also highly consider allowing each of them to ahve a single city left, to be terminated later... When they are our only contacts, having them all dead will slow down our tech significantly.
If we make a few new contacts, we can afford to slaughter them.

Wow. A lot of posts to digest now. Mmm. Tastes good. :)

First off, wonders... If we really want the Temple, I wouldn't switch research on it. The Temple is quite a bit more expensive than the Hanging Gardens. But if we really want Sun Tzu (which would be VERY useful during our early bloody years), we should switch and hope we can still grab the Temple. Sun Tzu is twice the cost of the Hanging Gardens, so the build time is going to be quite a bit longer.

One option would be switch the Temple build to Sun Tzu. Switch Gardens to Temple and research toward Invention to switch to Leonardo's. Cheaper upgrades are very nice in Conquests with costs so high.

I say wipe out the Americans. One city isn't going to help out a lot as they won't have money and they won't be able to research much anyhow. Let's get those galley's out instead and build up some more contacts.

As for war, I can't pull up the save, but lets analyze. We need more luxuries. We can trade (with roads) or acquire :hammer:. Sumeria would likely GA if we attacked them, but they have the most valuable cities for us. The Mongol cities aren't as valuable and there is still a bit of time before they get their Keshiks. Either way, both wars are going to be bloody. They both have iron too, correct?
I'm thinking a limited war against one or the other to start, taking a luxury or stategic resource. The Mongols are probably the best targer for a limited war.

Oh and continue research down the gunpowder path to prolong the GL and find the next resource. Don't trade Feudalism!

Oh yeah, why switch to Feudalism? We are building aqueducts so the larger cities will negate a lot of the benefits. And no rush buying. Yuck. I think I'd prefer Monarchy for our conquests. If we do switch to Feudalism, stop building any future aqueducts, unless the benefits of the increased production is worthwhile. The positive of Fuedalism is the great unit support for small cities.

One last thing, I agree its quite a kick to document each turn. It does make playing rather long (as if the game could take longer :p ) Since my time is rather limited at home, I've been documenting my personal games for a while since I get more out of them that way. Of course, each game plays out over many months though. The SG provides a great balance as I don't play the whole game (so it moves quicker), but I still benefit from the documentation and exchange of ideas. Now if only my wife could see the wisdom of this. :D I'm still trying to get out of the dog house for joining a 2nd SG. Oops. ;)

The reason to leave a civ alive isn't that tehy will actually research anything, but that there is a parameter in the Tech Cost calculation that is a division by number of living civs you are in contact with.

Regarding Tech cost, that is true. And I have no problem reducing Sumeria and the Mongols to manageable sizes, but keeping them around a bit. But I would rather see America eliminated. Most of America's land is where we would like to see some of our strength lie. I'd rather avoid any potential for flips in the future of cities back to America. If we were to keep America around, I wouldn't leave them with a luxury. I'd rather be able to trade one of Abe's furs back to him, keeping him bankrupt.

If we reduce America to the city of St. Louis, they will not pose a problem for the next couple of centuries.

Sorry guys, ill have to post up my turns tomorrow, i have loads of work to do today,

Ill have it done by tomorrow night.

I'm aware of the title of the thread. I am unable to change it from its current state. A lesson for the next thread.

Can you request a mod to do it?

Playing my turns now :hammer:

Bloody Forum ate my notes :(

Basically, I took over washington, Atlanta and Houston.

Signed the Byzantines into a MA against the Americans and they destroyed St. Louis for us.

Abe is still alive somewhere so im guessing he has one other city which he founded just in time or he has a settler somewhere.

We built the forbidden palace and we are building Sun Tzus.

The save

Sounds like a nice set of turns. Can't wait to get a look at the save? I guess we are still at war though, so for everyone, don't make peace with America until the Byzantines do first. :hammer:

Got a chance to look at the save. I'll help fill in a gap or two...

America survives, but who knows where. At least Abe's alive for now to help the tech rates. That should make Blasphemous happy. :D Then again, its probably a wandering settler and the Byzantines will probably eliminate them. :p

The Temple was build by the Spanish! So it looks like SolarKnight placed the Forbidden Palace in Wonsan. I guess we'll be thinking about moving our palace at some point? Seoul is 10 turns from Sun Tzu and its not being built by anyone else that we know of.

We are researching Chivalry (due in 8) and are still a Despitism. We are ahead in tech, but Sumeria has Engineering which we lack. We're up Monotheism and Feudalism.

I think we need to determine the following:

1) Government - get out of Despotism and let our cities thrive. Monarchy, Republic, or Feudalism

2) Next military target - Mongolia or Sumeria - Sumeria has zero resources and luxuries and would make a decent trading partner if Gilgamesh had a little gold. Mongolia has iron and horses, and will probably have Feudalism soon, so war would be tough. Heck, Ghengis has the Statue of Zeus too - ouch! But, there is ivory just over the border. A limited war might be useful, or with Chivalry, put some knights to use and push him back. I think strategically war with the Mongols makes the most sense, but its will be tough. If nothing else though, we should be able to get ivory.

And we must get some galleys out... both Spain and the Celts appear to be strong at least by the wonders they've picked up... A meeting is in order.

For the sake of a pic or two...
Korea East...

Man, that was quick, sweet, and brutal.;) I think we need to build up the cities we just took, and get them producing before we take out another civ. Besides, the only one who looks someone easy, size at least, is mongolia, but I'm scared that have alot hidden from us. We could crush Summeria between us and the Byz, but I don't know if we're strong enough for that.. They don't have Feudlism, but I'm sure they'll have it soon. Both us and Byz have it.

We have to decide on war or peace for the next 30 turns or so before we choose a goverment. I think now is a good time to build up our core, try and get as many to siz 12 before sanitation as we can, and just keep a base defensive of 2 defenders per a city, and only produce infrastrucure. Granaries in every cities my fellow countrymen!! Again though, this is just the builder in me, but I've found that is the only one to have real power in this game... population.

So I vote for republic and peace.
