DGIT # 2-Krafty Koreans

Seems we have our first Red Thread.
Notice that anyone can post as a guest without logging in (as Alerum has done) but you gotta register for some of the other features. (Alerum, you aren't signed up, that's why it won't accept your username. )
I think we may have grown out of CFC, now that it seems we'll be two teams of four... Heck, we could probably even recruit another team of four to play DGT3.3 on Regent! With that kind of fragmentation we really could use common threads to discuss things in, and it wouldn't exactly be fair to have 3-4 threads of our own over here...

 I nearly responded with the turn order before finishing your thread, alerum68. Eager to finish this one up? :D

Yeah, pre-builds are tough, because really only the palace makes an effective pre-build at this point. Our palace already moved once on Sandrock's turn (Inch'on, BTW), so its pretty easy to miss too.

4-turn tech research is pretty easy to come by at this point, internet or not. And once our GA is popped, we'll finish those space parts in 3 turns each. I have to admit, Communism has been quite effective. The corruption rates are just ridiculous. It seems a little unfair for corruption to be this little on Communism. Would there ever be a good reason to choose a different government if you civ was a half-way decent size?

Hey, don't worry about Emperor, Smellincoffee. We all live and die together. As a team, we'll definitely pull through. And even if we lose, it sure will be a heck of a lot of fun.

I don't think there is a proposal to abandon CivFanatics Forums. But pure discussion threads probably don't belong in the SG forums. I like the idea of using the Red Forums for those, but keep the game threads here. Plus I like checking my subscriptions in one place. One click upates! ;)

Oh yeah, I aggree with you gentleman... Sorry Blas, but the Red Forums won't be able to replace CFC... even if we went to Apolytion, I'd still feel the same way. CFC is the ONLY board I use on the net, at all. But we can give the discussion thread a try over there...

Blas@ I have created a username, and I even tried to validate it, but it's not working for some reason. It's Alerum by itself, not Alerum68. You may need to delete what I've started so I can start over on it.

Bleh, oh well. :(

You're signed up for the Red Legions site, but there's no trace of you in the boards. You gotta register by going here.
It really is confusing, I'll make sure the RL registration form states clearly that it does not register you to the forums... You are not the first to miss this distinction. =\

How's our spaceship progressing, Obliv?

I'm off to work. Its work experience week for 15 year olds here in the UK. I will play when i get back but that won't be for another 10 hours or so.

Long day ;)

There really isn't much to say for the turnlog, so i won't use my usual style

  • Golden age started on second turn. GPT lept up 400. Production skyrocketed.
  • Synthetic fibres was researched on turn 1.
  • Research was set to Nuclear power, in 4 turns.
  • I shift slider back to 30%, still get Nuclear power in 2 turns, and make +3293
    gpt :)
  • Nuclear power researched on turn 5. The laser in 4 turns @ +2295 gpt. 100%
won't change it too 3 turns.
  • I complete two spaceship parts.
  • Once i had 3 ICBMs, i declared on Persia, Celts and Rome and nuked their capitals.
Just a bit of excitement in the end game ;) The other civs had MPPS so they
declared. Lost my silks. Doesn't matter.
  • Had huge naval battles on other continent. Only mine and SolarKnights ship didn't
see action (remotely placed) Sandrock sunk two ships, SmellinCoffee two, SpikeIt one,
    Blasphemous two.
  • Only 2 turns till Robotics. Seatlle prebuild for the last component and we are done.
    2 turns to go [dance]

Aaah. Stinkin' Japanese took back their silks. All because of a little nuclear action? Bah.

So that leaves us with Alerum? This game should be done, oh, about now?? ;)

Yea, i know. The populace got upset, so i have 'manage citizen moods on'.
Wouldn't do it if we weren't <5 turns from the end though.

I was also forced to nuke a frigate stack that was threatening your ship SpikeIt. :D
Yours is only a regular, but everyone elses is veteran

If Alerum doesn't pick it up today, I'm going to. :mischief:

Once i had 3 ICBMs, i declared on Persia, Celts and Rome and nuked their capitals.

I figured that if the game was completed before my turn, I was going to nuke their capitals on the turn of the launch.

Yes! Nukyular war! WAHOO! I sunk two bogies!
ABSOLUTE BLISS, COMRADES!

I got it guys... expect a turn log sometime in the next 72 hours.:)

Preturn (1894AD)
Notice the governer is on. Is not a good idea.:p
Skip through most units. Only interested in one thing.
Wish we learned to build Hospitals... not going to be a very high score with the low population.
Don't change any builds. Notice we have 2 ICBMS in 2 turns. Will have to switch it on the IBT.

Turn 1 (1895)
Again, I skip through most units.
No battles, just our goal.

Turn 2 (1896)
Robotics comes in. FINALLY find a ICBM build that comes in next turn, so I have a change to save and upload before the build.:)
Planetary Lounge comes in.
Turn luxury up to max, and make sure everyone is happy.

Going to save here. Hit enter, and y'all will have a nice little reward.;)

Been fun playing with y'all, and we need to decide where to go from here... Suggestions for a civ, victory condition, and world type are in order!

Screenshots to follow in next post.

Enjoy!

Congratulations, guys! We did Korea proud. :D Can't wait for the next game.

BTW, Alerum, one of the screenshots is messed up. You have two "http://" prefixes in the URL. :p

I'll post about the next game tomorrow after I've had some sleep. I don't think too well after a 12 hour shift.

Halleluja :D
When i started this i was a regent player, now i'm about to win my first emperor game, and start my first emperor SG :)

:goodjob:

Beautiful, just beautiful. :D Our rocket launch must have been truly glorious. Hopefully for the true Korean launch we used Korean astronauts as opposed to some slave Mongolian test pilot or some such. ;) Great job guys. I'm a bit disappointed Izzy has such a sourpuss face on though. If there was a civ we were friendly to, it was her. I don't think we even dropped a nuke on her! Sore loser.

Once we rolled over America, there wasn't much to worry about in this one. We had great land and a great team. I'm still amazed at how strong Communism is.

Anyhow, looking forward to the next game. Hopefully the AI will put up quite a challenge. I'm seeing first hand how tough the AI can be at a higher level - take a look at Gram 2.0. I should be crashing and burning sometime tomorrow night. Ouch. Granted, that game started in a really tough spot.

Oblivion - I don't know. If you're beating Emperor now, maybe you should go off and find some Diety game or something. :p Just kidding. Good job on your accomplishments. I'm sure you'll have some good ideas on the early stages of our next game.
