Pre-turn: check around.
We are researching sci at 40% and Writing due in 25 turns. Decrease it to 10% and still due in 25 turns???
Lux is 10% - decrease to 0 and everybody is content. Now income increases from 0 to +5.
Diplo: we know France and Korea. France has IW and HBR, so does Korea. Nothing we could do here.
We have a granary in Kyoto, settler due in 5 turns. Osaka is also building a settler, I change it to granary, due in 11 turns - but I'll whip it as soon as possible.
I switch off "Always negotiate deals" - folks, let's be careful with this. This could especially backfire for peace treaty. The correct way is to always watch it out - but decide manually whether to renegotiate or not.
Everything else is good. Press enter.
(1) 2110BC: Kyoto grows, lux raised to 10% again. Warrior in the north tries to fight the barb, but we got 25g without a fight? Guess during last turn it attacked the Korean warrior and lost.
IBT: People admire me so much that we expand our palace. Aztec builds Pyramids.
(2) 2070BC: exploring..
IBT: Osaka expands border - we built a temple here? We should have built a barracks or granary first.
We don't need that much happiness for now and now we have to pay maintenance for it.
(3) 2030BC: exploring.. Both Korea and France have Writing!!

We ought to meet more civs. I continue Writing anyway.
(4) 1990BC: Settler is finished in Kyoto, continue on settler. Lux drop to zero.
IBT: Thucydides completes history:
(5) 1950BC: zzz
(6) 1910BC: On sight of bab camp to the location that I want to move my settler, so the warrior has to leave Kyoto to escort it. Switch Kyoto to warrior due next turn. As a result lux raised to 10% temporarily.
IBT: France has Mysticism but not Korea! However we couldn't afford it.

But Korea is broke too, so he will not be able to get it any time soon.
(7) 1870BC: Kyoto completes warrior, continues on settler. I whip granary in Osaka (20 shields).
IBT: A korean warrior kills a barb, but two more babs show up.
(8) 1830BC: Osaka starts worker - we need to connect the Gems. I found Tokyo, starts a rax. This will be our military city.
(9) 1790BC: zzz
(10) 1750BC: Korean warrior clears the barb camp for us. I switch the rax in Yokyo to Curragh - we really need contact!
(11) 1725BC: zzz
(12) 1700BC: we now can afford Mysticism by 124g+9gpt! But it will eat up all our gold and income, and since we are building settlers the income is not stable. I'll hold.
(13) 1675BC: Osaka builds worker switchs to rax. Kyoto builds settler continues on settler. Korea has Mathematics! But now we cannot afford Mysticism since with settler/worker our income dropped from
11gpt to 5gpt..
(14) 1650BC: Korea and France didn't trade between themselves..both hold monopoly on one tech. Our world ranking is above France.
(15) 1625BC: the west warrior keeps exploring..the other two return home - blocked by Korea and France.
IBT: two barbs attack our warrior in the west and promote it.
(16) 1600BC: Tokyo builds curragh, starts another one. The curragh is sent to the south. Warrior clears barb camp and redlines. Geez, we haven't met anyone else for such a long time.
(17) 1575BC: Osaka builds rax and starts worker. West worrior meets..France again!
(18) 1550BC: Satsuma is founded to claim the ivory. I start a temple right away. MM Osaka to hire a scientist otherwise we would have to raise lux to 30% - worker still due in 1 turn. Hmm, Kyoto will produce settler in 2 turns but pop will only grow to size 3 in 3 turns. I switch it to a templpe due in 2.
Korea and France traded their techs.

So both have 5 on us. We'll have to meet more civs.
(19) 1525BC: Osaka worker -> worker. It should build a spearman after this worker, and probably rotate between them. Alternatively, you could MM it to build a worker every 4 turns (3 food and 3 shields).
(20): Kyoto expands and builds temple. Continue to settler.
I am very disappointed at contacts, and this makes no brokering possibility so I didn't make any tech deal.
Writing is due in 6 turns, though, and it would open up more opportunities.
I made a simple dotmap. Red dot is highest priority, and then pink, and then blue. I am not putting them too densely, though, which may be wrong, so it's up to discussion.
Our treasure is 217g which is enough to buy IW, but I am more inclined to save the gold for later tech brokerage. We've settled several mountains and in my dotmap there are mountains to the south so I think there must be iron. If we can settle those asap we should not be worried about it.
The second curragh is due in Tokyo in 3 turns, after that I suggest sending it to the north. The west warrior should keep scouting (to the west) but he is redlined now so maybe you want to move him to the mountain and heal him first.
Whenever you meet somebody, check what we can broker with a 3-fer.
In short I didn't manage to make much progress, but I hope the next leader could have better luck.
Wonderless is Wonderful
EDIT: gems will be online next turn or two.
