First game was Germany. I always had a soft spot for Germany.

It was on Noble. I played on the "new world" - i think that's what it's called. I was lucky to get Christianity first, and spread it to be the dominant religion on earth.

Since then, I was unable to win. It might be because I like playing with all 18 nations at the same time: it makes things a lot more interesting (and difficult). But I'm sure I'll get it right eventually.

I won, but it was on Warlord or Settler. I basically knew from turn 1 that I was going to eventually win, but I wanted an easy game that would let me experiment and learn about the new features. I essentially considered it an extended tutorial.

I think it was with Gandhi, and I probably won by space race, but I don't really remember the details.

I lost to my arch enemy, "Crash To Desktop" his traits are disorganized/counterproductive.

We have the same enemy :-)

Just digged out my first game, I abandoned it due to permanet crashes in 1910.
It was on Prince difficulty with Ghandi on a huge map. I probably would have won it, I was leading in score and tech.
I remember getting backstabbed by Alex and Izzy (still haven't killed them off).

Yes, I did win my first game.

Civ: Aztecs
Settler difficulty
Diplomatic victory with a final score of 10000+

The odd thing is that when I played my second game on chieftain, I was India and scored 20000+ on diplomacy ending the game in the 19th century! Those are the only 2 diplo victory I won though.

I lost because I quit and tried out other factions & map types in the game in about 20 turns.
