Diplo for MIA

No, if they don't give poly, we can attack without waiting 10 turns.
What about their offer of new peace deal? We could say that we will sign it when we build a harbor and trade luxes (of course we will not do this)

I just saw that message and I feel as though they aren't intending to send Poly. But we need to give them a chance and not just boldly rush into their cities... yet.

P.S. We know there has been some confusion over polytheism. We're confident the proposal outlined in the above letter solves this problem in a very satisfactory way for all sides. If not – please know that we take our word seriously, and will make sure we get this resolved so that there are no bad feelings.

We need to let them know that if we don't receive Poly in the lot for us sending Republic that we will consider it a break of the treaty. Then it will be flat out told to them that they will be breaking the treaty if it's not sent, "no strings attached". If they refuse to send it next turn, open the blood gates. If they do, then turn 94 will have to have a notice of declaration and turn 104 can have our GS in their borders

...if we are going to give them THAT much time, we better spread some GSs around to be prepared to do a little skirmishing.

Can we assume that we will accept all the other techs first, even if they don't send Poly???

That's what was in the original treaty. Also note that they have to abide by the same 10 turns or will be violating their word. If this was the only game that was ever played and/or humans didn't have a memory from game-to-game, I'd say let's hit them now and hard.

But alas, some of us might be playing in another game with these guys and don't want to tarnish our reputation. turn 104 is the first turn that we can legally enter their borders violently. Unless they break the treaty

EDIT::: Gma H., yes we will accept their techs, then give them an opportunity to hand over Poly, then clobber them. the last item's time frame depends ont he second item's outcome

I believe Bugsy expressed a similar sentiment... but we don't need to play dirty to beat these guys...

...but we shall play dastardly, when the time comes. :hammer:

scoutsout (and others), get on MSN Messanger if you can. I'm going to bed right now, but later it might be useful to get the ones that know about spilling blood effeciently to be online to chat about what to do.

I've already learned a lot from this game and human-to-human combat is something that could be very interesting to see and learn from.

Here's the thread that has everyone's MSN address.

If they do not send poly the treaty is null and void along with our peace terms per admins interpretation.

Let's bear in mind that the agreement was considered a secret and if it is null and void will go public. Let's be prepared to have this discussed by the other teams.

Also, remember any pictures posted should not be loaded to the "upload file".

Here's my drum. Anyone else ready to bang?

Let's build up a band. We can make it a constructive diplomatic move indeed. Well engineered, this can trash their rep and the others will have nothing to do with those playmobile dummies. It'll block their trades and chances are they'll never be middle-age-borne. Let's just follow the plan.

Me and Whomper had a wee chat and came up with the following: We do not reply on MIA's latest mail, but wait for them to play and post the save. They have about 8 hrs to make up their minds about whether they believe us or not when we say Poly is part of the deal. They may ask for an extension, but eventually they have to make the call.

If Poly isn't in, we have 2 choises which I hereby name the Barry approach and the Johnny approach respectively. Basically, Barry says we should give MIA a second chance to fullfill their part of the deal so it'll take another turn before we know if they will. Johnny, on the other hand, says the deal is flat out broken if Poly isn't in the first time around.
If the save comes in without Poly attached, I think we should have a vote on which song to play. If it is in, the we go from there.

I'll bring my cocktail drums to the party :D

How about Barry's pic and Johnny's verse?

Good plan you dudes.

Just for clarification I've sent Ginger Ale and RegentMan this PM...
We have sent republic to MIA. They have cleared the table and sent all of their techs except poly. We feel this has broke our treaty.

Question is this.... technically if we accept the techs is it implied that we've accepted their deal, which is not what is written in the treaty, or can we let them know after they take republic that the deal has already been broken?

Whomp

I hope this is not too confusing.

You're right to ask them. Let's hope their answer will be good for us. :)

And this rises another problem: The trade doesn't occur, they won't have Rep and won't be able to revolt. Will we have so sell it to Nuts and/or TNT and then tell them to sell it to MIA? :D

I've got my drum ready...

OK here's Ginger Ale's response to our question. We will need to ask MIA for poly now or the deal is broken.

Hi Whomp, CC RM,

Have you sent them the PM RM and I responded to a while back? Then ask them if they have any questions...really that would be the best thing to do.

Regarding your question, if you accept the techs, I would said you are 'accepting the Republic deal' like in the treaty, so no, you can't go back and let them know afterwards. If you want to use the treaty to the fullest, let them know what I've said in the other PM, and have them talk to me if they disagree.

...to do this!

And you thought I was just an idiot :D

As of turn 85. This could be of interest.
